정신지체 특수학교 개별화교육운영위원회의 구성 및 운영 실태

국문 초록

본 연구는 2007학년도 정신지체 특수학교 개별화교육운영위원회의 구성 및 운영에 관한 실태를 조사한 것으로 전국의 92개 정신지체 특수학교 중 76개 학교의 연구부장이 설문 조사에 응답하였다. 연구 결과로 설문에 참여한 정신지체 특수학교 중 약 96%에서 전체 학생을 대상으로 하는 한 팀의 개별화교육운영위원회를 구성하고 있었고, 위촉되는 의원으로 교감, 학교장, 연구부장, 학부모, 현재 담임교사, 교무부장 등이 있었다. 개별화교육운영위원회 운영사항으로, 개별화교육계획 수립 회의는 86.3%의 학교에서 실시하였으나 개별화교육계획 평가 회의는 58.9%의 학교에서 실시하고 있어 상대적으로 그 비율이 낮았으며, 회의 개최시기는 대부분의 학교가 수립 회의는 신 학년 시작 전ㆍ후에, 평가 회의는 매 학기말 전ㆍ후였다. 그리고 회의에서 논의되는 사항으로 수립 회의에서는 교육계획 및 일정 수립, 작성 교과 영역 및 내용 선정, 학생의 현재 수행수준 및 선수학습 능력 파악 등이, 평가 회의에서는 개별화교육계획 평가서 작성 및 기록에 관한 내용, 교육 목표 달성정도 확인 등이 논의되고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 논의와 제언이 제시되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to investigate organization and management of the IEP committee in special schools for students with mental retardation. The subject of the study was head teachers of the research department in the 76 special schools. The results of the study were as follows. About 96 percents of the special schools for students with mental retardation had a team of IEP committee. The major IEP committee members were school principle, assistant principle, head teacher of the research department, parents, classroom teacher, head teacher of the educational affairs department. About 86.3 percents of the schools had IEP developing meeting but about 58.9 percents of the schools had IEP evaluating meeting. The meeting for developing an IEP was held about new term season, and the meeting for evaluation of the plan was held about last time of the semester. The issue of meetings for developing IEP were formulating educational plan, scheduling, choosing the contents & constituents, and evaluating present level in performance. And the issue of meetings for evaluating IEP were writing assessment of the IEP, documentation, and checking the achievement of educational goals and objectives. Discussions and suggestions were followed.
