초등학교 특수학급의 진로교육 실태 및 교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 특수학급의 진로교육 실태를 조사하고, 특수학급을 담당하고 있는 교사들의 진로교육에 대한 인식을 검토하여, 초등학교 특수학급에 재학 중인 장애학생을 위한 바람직한 진로교육의 방향성을 제시할 수 있는 기초적인 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이상의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 부산․경남지역 초등학교 특수학급에 재직하고 있는 특수교사(N=248)를 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 진로교육 대한 실태 및 인식을 조사하고 분석한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 초등학교 특수학급의 전반적인 진로교육 운영 실태는 진로교육에 관한 목표 수립 및 내용에 관한 계획을 제대로 설정하지 못하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 진로교육 운영실태도 부정적인 측면이 강했다. 따라서 진로교육의 실제성과 효과성을 높이기 위해서는 초등학교에서 진로교육을 실시할 수 있도록 법적․제도적 근거를 마련하는 교육과정의 수립, 진로교육에 관한 정보의 공유와 현장 중심의 다양한 진로교육 프로그램 및 진로자료의 개발 및 보급, 다양한 진로관련 연수 및 진로교육 전문 인력을 통한 특수학급 교사 지원 등의 교사 전문성 강화를 위한 국가적 차원의 체계적인 지원이 요구된다. 둘째, 초등학교 특수학급 교사들은 스스로 진로교육에 관한 전문성이 높지 않다고 인식하고 있었으며, 실질적이고 효과적인 진로교육에 대한 요구가 높았다. 초등학교 특수학급 교사들은 대부분 진로교육에 대한 개념이해의 부족과 함께 연수경험의 부족을 문제점으로 인식하고 있으며, 연수를 받은 교사들이 연수를 받지 않은 교사들보다 진로교육에 대한 인식이 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 진로교육의 활성화를 위해서는 진로교육에 관한 교사 연수기회의 확대 및 규칙적인 연수, 교사모임 등에 대한 지원, 교육청의 장학활동 등 국가, 지역, 학교 차원의 다양한 행․재정적 지원이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study is to analyze Actual Conditions of Career Education in a Elementary School Special Class and Teachers' perception. Through this aims, We can provide to special class teachers with guidelines which help them recognize Career Education in a Elementary School Special Class for students with disabilities . 248 special class teachers of Pusan metropolitan city and Kyung-Nam province responded questionnaire on A ctual Conditions of Career Education and their perception. The results are as following; First, the goal and the content of Career Education in Special Classes for Elementary Schools haven't been set so the education about Career can't be carried out systematically. The reasons are pretty complicated. For example the absence of the curricula and the programs of Career Education, and the lack of the expert knowledge of the special class teachers etc. The goal of Career Education for students with disabilities is focused on the education of practical skills and techniques, so the career education is related to the social lives of the students. Although teachers know the necessity of the practical career education, schools are not closely connected with the community. Second, special class teachers think that they do not have enough expert knowledge and skills on Career Education for the students with disabilities. Teachers in the field of special education do not understand Career Education enough and they think little chance to be trained is one of the problems. This shows that it is critically necessary to develop Career Education programs for the teachers and to train them. Teachers think that the best time to educate students with disabilities about career is when they are in kindergarten and elementary school.
