초등학교 입학에 대한 장애아동 학부모의 인식조사

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 초등학교 입학연령인 만 5세 이상 초등학교 입학 전 장애아동의 학부모 95명을 대상으로 자녀의 입학에 관한 사항, 학부모의 어려움, 초등학교 입학에 필요한 정책에 관한 인식을 알아보았다. 이를 위해 인식조사지를 제작하여 서울, 대전, 경기, 충남, 충북, 경남, 제주지역의 장애아동 학부모 100명에게 배부하고, 회수된 95부의 설문지를 분석하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자녀의 입학에 관한 사항으로는 응답자 자녀의 82.1% 이상이 두 가지 이상의 문제행동을 갖고 있으며, 응답자의 93.7%가 자녀의 장애로 인하여 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 자녀를 입학시킬 기관으로는 응답자의 59.0%가 일반학급보다는 특수학교나 일반학교의 특수학급을 선택하였으며, 23.2%는 정하지 못하고 있었다. 둘째, 장애아동 학부모의 어려움에 관한 사항으로는 학부모의 96.8%가 학교 선정, 자녀의 취학유예 등의 문제로 고민하고 있었으며, 자녀의 입학문제로 인하여 다양한 형태의 스트레스 증상을 느끼고 있었다. 이들은 자녀의 입학에 대한 걱정과 불안감이 매우 많은 반면, 입학준비를 하면서 긍정적인 경험으로 자녀의 발달에 대한 희망을 갖기도 한다. 셋째, 장애아동 학부모들이 초등학교 교사와 교육기관에 바라는 점이나 필요한 정책에 대한 의견으로는 초등학교 담임교사의 관심과 배려, 장애아동을 위한 환경 조성, 전문 인력의 확보, 방과 후 학습지도, 정보 지원, 치료교육 지원, 올바른 장애인식 교육, 장애용품 지원, 일반교사 연수 등을 원하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 초등학교 입학 전 장애아동 학부모에게 자녀가 초등학교에 입학하여 적응할 수 있도록 적절한 지원방안을 수립하는데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the perceptions about some matters, difficulties and policies for children with disabilities who are over 5 years old about the entrance to an elementary school, examining by 95 of their parents. For this, there are some questionnaires and distributions given to 100 parents in Seoul , Deajeon, Kyunggi, Chungnam, Chungbuk. kyungbuk and Jeju , then we analyzed the results as collected by 95 of them. First, the matters of their children's entrance were that more than 82.1% of parents have had more than 2 problem behaviors of their children, 93.7% of parents have experienced the economical difficulties due to their children's disabilities. About some institutions for their children were 59% of respondents chosen to the special education school or special class in general school rather than entering the general class. 23.2% have not chosen to any school yet. Second, the difficulties for parents who have children with disabilities were that 96.8% of parents have worried the problems of selecting the school and delaying the time to enter the school. They also have experienced a variety of stresses because of their children's entrance to the school. Even though they have a lot of concerns and anxieties about their children's entrance to a school, they are still having an expectation about their children’s better development as preparing for the entrance to the school. Third, the opinions for policies about what their parents want for the teachers and institutions were that they would like to receive the attention and consideration from the homeroom teacher, a good environment for children with disabilities, extension of the number of the professional staffs, academic classes after school, information supports, therapy education, positive education for disabilities, equipments for disabled supports, etc. The results of this study can be used for making some possible ways for parents of children with disabilities to adapt to the school before entering the school.
