유치원 교사의 언어치료 서비스에 대한 인식 조사

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 교사의 언어치료 서비스에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위한 것으로, 부산 및 경남(김해, 창원, 진주) 지역의 일반 유치원 및 어린이집 교사 106명을 대상으로 학급의 의사소통장애 아동의 실태, 의사소통장애와 언어치료 서비스에 대한 인식 및 이해에 대한 설문지를 사용하여 조사하였다. 연구 결과, 학급에 의사소통 문제를 보이는 아동이 1명 이상 있다고 응답한 비율이 높고, 아동의 발음이 부정확하여 알아듣지 못하지만 언어치료 서비스를 받고 있는 아동의 수는 적은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 유치원 교사들은 장애의 명칭이나 원인에 대해서는 잘 알고 있으나 장애 아동에게 적절한 대처를 하기에는 전문지식이 부족하고 관련 개별치료를 통해 아동의 의사소통 문제가 해결되길 바라고 있었다. 마지막으로 언어치료 서비스에 대한 이해 수준은 다소 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 통합교육에서 일반 유치원 교사의 역할이 중요한 점을 감안하며 이들이 필요로 하는 전문지식이나 대처 기술을 지원하기 위한 연수나 교육 기회가 제공되어야 할 것이며, 유아교육 장면 내에서 언어치료사와 협력적으로 교육을 할 수 있는 체계의 마련이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate how much kindergarten teacher understand and what their perception are on speech and language therapy related services of children. The subjects in this study were 106 preschool and kindergarten teacher in Busan and GyeongNam Province. The questionnaire was used to investigate their general characteristics and problems of language and communication of children under their care and also to determine the level of their perception and understanding of speech and language therapy related services. The findings of this study are ;First, 61.31% of teachers replies they are aware of over 1 children who display communication problems in their class, pronunciation problem was most frequent and children who were receiving speech & language therapy belonged to only 29.23% of children. Second, They were most aware of language development delay in communication disorders' name and most well aware of autism, hearing impairment and mental retarded as disabilities that causing communication disorders. They were considered most important as areas of social/emotional development. For children who need individual guidance, professional knowledge was most needed. They have a conference with parents upon when discovering a child have language problems. Most of teacher didn't have received any disability related professional training and learning. Third, from the result of assessing the level of understanding of speech and language related services on a 5 point scale, the kindergarten teachers' level of understanding was revealed to relatively low.
