경도 지적장애 학생의 언어성 작업기억 특성

국문 초록

연구목적: 지적장애 학생의 언어학습을 위한 하나의 방법으로 작업기억의 중요성을 인식하고, 경도 지적장애 학생에게 언어성 작업기억 검사를 실시하여 그 특성을 알아보고자 했다. 연구방법: 언어연령이 6∼7세인 경도 지적장애 학생 10명과 언어연령을 일치시킨 일반 아동 10명을 대상으 로 비단어 따라 말하기, 숫자 따라 말하기, 문장 폭 기억하기, 숫자 거꾸로 따라 말하기 과제를 사 용하였다. t -검정으로 집단 간 작업기억 검사의 점수 차이, 기술통계로 집단 간 오류유형의 차이 를 실시하여 변인 간 상관관계를 알아보았다. 연구결과: 첫째, 비단어 따라 말하기와 문장 폭 기억하기에서 경도 지적장애 학생이 일반 아동에 비해 유의하게 낮은 점수를 받았다. 둘째, 비단어 따라 말하기에서 경도 지적장애 학생은 음소대치, 무반응, 음소생략, 음절생략, 음소첨가의 순으로, 일반 아동은 음소대치, 음절생략, 무반응, 음소생략, 음소첨가의 순으로 높은 오류빈도를 보였다. 단어회상 과제에서 경도 지적장애 학생은 부분반복, 무반응, 다른 어휘, 전체반복 순으로, 일반 아동은 무반응, 부분반복, 전체반복, 다른 어휘 순으로 높은 오류빈도를 보였다. 결론: 경도 지적장애 학생은 일반 아동에 비해 언어성 작업기억 용량에 제한이 있으며, 작업기억 용량이 작아 음운 처리와 이중처리 능력에 어려움이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 언어연령을 일치시킨 일반 아동과 작업기억의 오류유형을 비교하였을 때 비슷한 양상을 보이고 있어 경도 지적장애 학생의 오류가 일탈적 형태가 아님을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 경도 지적장애 학생에게 충분한 작업기억 훈련을 실시한다면 향상된 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This research aims to help children learn languages and mediate languages by comparing the ability of students with intellectual disability to those with verbal work memory. Method: The subject of the study was 10 students with the mild intellectual disability with a language age of 6 to 7 years and 10 normal children who matched the language age. Non-word recall and digit span were used to measure phonological loop. CLPT and backward digit span were used to measure central executive. Results: First, students with mild intellectual disabilities received significantly lower scores than normal children in non-word recall test and CLPT. Second, Students with mild intellectual disability and normal children had similar the frequency of error types ranking in the non-word recall test and word recall test. Conclusion: Students with mild intellectual disabilities have limited verbal working memory capacity compared to normal children, and their working memory is small, making them difficult to phonologic processing and dual processing. Also, the error patterns of working memory are similar to those of normal children, indicating that errors of students with mild intellectual disabilities are not deviant. Therefore, it is possible to expect an improvement if sufficient working memory training is conducted for students with mild intellectual disabilities.
