국문 초록

최근 중국기업들의 한국투자가 급속히 증가하고 있으며, 향후에도 이러한 추세는 지속될 것으로 전망된다. 이러한 맥락에서 중국기업들의 한국투자 행태에 관한 연구는 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 기업들의 해외투자 실행 초기에 나타나는 소유지분율 결정에 관한 문제를 심도있게 분석하려는 취지에서 실시되었다. 즉, 본 연구의 주요 목적은 한국에 투자한 중국기업들의 소유지분율 결정요인을 규명하고 이들과 투자성과간의 관계를 실증분석에 의해 살펴보는데 있다. 실증분석 결과 다음과 같은 사실들이 발견되었다. 첫째, 본사에 대한 의존도, 현지자원 필요성, 마케팅 능력, 투자환경 위험도, 자회사의 원자재 공급 의존성 등 다섯 가지 요인이 중국기업의 한국투자 소유지분율 결정에 영향을 주는 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 중국기업의 한국투자의 경우, 투자기업의 소유지분율이 투자성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 소유지분율 결정요인 중에서는 기술의 필요대안만이 투자성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 끝으로 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 한국기업 및 정부에 대하여 중국기업 진출에 따른 대응방안을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

Recently Chinese investment in Korea has increased rapidly and is expected to grow continuously in the future. Thus a study on the behavior of Chinese Companies investing in Korea is warranted. This study tries to analyze in depth the determination of ownership-share proposed at the first time a company is engaged in a foreign direct investment(FDI). The main purpose of this study is to test empirically both the determinants of ownership and its effects on FDI performance. The empirical findings are as follows: First, the determinants of Chinese investment in Korea seem to include 5 factors: the investor's marketing ability, the foreign subsidiary's dependency on the parent company, the foreign subsidiary's dependency on the parent company's raw materials supply, investment risk and the investor's demand for local resources. Second, ownership seems to have a statistically significant influence on investment performance in the case of Chinese investment in Korea. Third, among the determination of ownership-share, only the investor's demand for local skill has a statistically significant influence on the investment performance. Finally, on the basis of its findings, this study proposes strategic measures for Korean local enterprise and government toward Chinese investment.
