한ㆍ일 간 카지노 지역주민의 인식과 지지도 비교분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 카지노 개발로 인한 사회적, 경제적, 환경적 영향이 카지노 지지도에 영향을 미치는지를 규명하고, 한ㆍ일 간 동일한 요인구조를 갖는지, 사회교환이론의 적용이 가능한지를 각각 살펴보고자 한다. 또한, 회귀계수를 토대로 카지노 영향이 지지도에 미치는 영향에 있어서 한ㆍ일 간 차이가 있는지를 Z-test를 이용하여 규명하고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 요인분석, 다중회귀분석, Z-test를 실시하였으며, 한국의 강원랜드 폐광지역 카지노 지역주민과 일본의 카지노 예상지역 중 하나인 오키나와 지역주민을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 한국과 일본의 지역주민 모두 4가지의 동일한 요인구조(긍정적 경제영향, 긍정적 사회영향, 부정적 사회영향, 부정적 환경영향)를 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 본 연구의 카지노 지역주민 영향에 대한 측정항목들이 어느 문화나 국가에도 적용이 가능한 타당한 척도라는 점을 시사해준다. 회귀분석결과 강원랜드 카지노 지역주민의 경우 부정적 환경영향을 제외한 3가지 요인(부정적 사회영향, 긍정적 경제영향, 긍정적 사회영향)이 카지노 지지도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 오키나와 지역주민의 경우 위의 4가지 요인 모두 지지도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 두 국가 모두 사회교환이론을 지지한다는 것을 지적해준다. 또한, Z-test결과 긍정적 사회영향이 지지도에 미치는 영향은 강원랜드 카지노 지역주민과 오키나와 지역주민 간 유사한 것으로 나타났으나, 부정적 사회영향과 부정적 환경영향 및 긍정적 경제영향이 지지도에 미치는 영향은 일본이 한국에 비하여 강한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to estimate the effects of social, economic, and environmental impacts on support for casino development, and examine whether there is a equal factor structure between Korea and Japan and results support social exchange theory. This study also investigates whether the size of coefficients in explaining casino support by these casino impacts is significantly different between Korea and Japan using Z-test. To this end factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, and Z-test were conducted and surveys were administered to residents of Kangwon Land Casino in Korea and Okinawa in Japan. The results show that the same structure with four factors(positive economic and social impacts, and negative social and environmental impacts) was appeared in both residents of Korea and Japan. This finding implies that these impact scales are applicable to both countries. The results of regression analysis indicate that three factors(negative social impact, positive economic impact, and positive social impact) except negative environmental impact influenced support for casino development by the residents of Kangwon Land Casino, whereas all four factors mentioned above influenced support for casino development by the Okinawa residents. The findings indicate that social exchange theory was supportive for both countries. The results of Z-test indicate that the effect of positive social impact on casino support was not different between Kangwon Land Casino and Okinawa residents, whereas the effects of negative social impact, and positive economic and social impacts on casino support were stronger for Okinawa residents than Kangwon Land Casino residents.
