국문 초록

이 연구는 규범활성화이론(Norm Activation Theory, NAT)을 적용하여 간편조리식품 소비자의 조리행동의도를설명하고자 하였다. 식사 준비 과정에서 소비자가 지각하는 책임감과 개인의 도덕적 규범이 간편조리식품 조리행동의도에어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 간편조리식품 사용 경험이 있는 성인 376명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며 수집된 데이터를 바탕으로 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계 분석, 단순 회귀분석, 매개효과분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 식사준비인식은 결과지각에 유의미한 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는식사 준비를 도덕적 실천으로 내면화한 소비자일수록 조리과정에서의 시간적·심리적 부담을 낮게 인식하는 경향이 있음을 시사한다. 둘째, 결과지각은 책임귀속에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳐 식사 준비 결과에 대한 인식이 높을수록 조리에 대한책임감 또한 강화되는 구조가 확인되었다. 셋째, 책임귀속은 개인규범을 활성화하는 주요 요인으로 작용하였다. 넷째, 개인규범은 조리행동의도를 유의미하게 설명하는 핵심 변수로 나타났으며 책임귀속이 개인규범에 미치는 설명력이 가장높게 나타나 조리에 대한 책임감이 윤리적 행동의도로 작용하는 주요한 심리적 기제임을 보여주었다. 다섯째, 매개효과분석 결과 책임귀속이 조리행동의도에 미치는 영향에서 개인규범이 부분매개하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이 연구는 외식및 식품 소비 영역에서 NAT의 적용 가능성을 확인하고 조리행동을 윤리적·도덕적 동기의 실천으로 해석하여 이론적확장을 시도했다는 점에서 학문적 의의를 가진다. 실무적으로는 간편조리식품 제조업체가 소비자의 식사준비 책임감과조리 참여 의식을 고려한 마케팅 전략, 제품 설계, 브랜딩 방향을 수립할 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study applies Norm Activation Theory (NAT) to examine meal kit consumers’ cooking intentions, focusing on how perceived responsibility and personal moral norms influence these intentions during meal preparation. A total of 376 adults with prior experience using meal kits participated in an online survey. The collected data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, reliability testing, correlation analysis, simple regression, and mediation analysis. The findings reveal five key insights. First, awareness of meal preparation significantly reduced perceived burdens related to cooking outcomes, suggesting that consumers who internalize cooking as a moral practice experience less psychological and temporal stress. Second, awareness of cooking outcomes positively influenced the ascription of responsibility, implying that higher awareness reinforces consumers' moral obligation. Third, the ascription of responsibility played a central role in activating personal norms. Fourth, personal norms were strong predictors of cooking intentions, with ascribed responsibility being the most influential antecedent. Fifth, the mediation analysis confirmed that personal norms partially mediated the relationship between responsibility and cooking intention. This study extends the theoretical application of NAT to the domain of food and consumer behavior, interpreting cooking as a morally motivated act. Practically, the findings suggest that meal kit companies should design marketing and branding strategies that reflect consumers’ sense of responsibility and ethical engagement in food preparation.
