진로 집중과정 개발자로서 고교 교사의 전문성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 진로 집중과정 개발자로서 고교 교사의 전문성을 탐색하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 우리나라 고교 교육의 성격을 살펴보고 진로 집중과정과 대학 입시의 관계를 탐색하였다. 둘째, 고교교육에서 진로 집중과정의 정당성을 사회, 교과(학문), 학습자 측면에서 논의하였다. 셋째, 이상의 탐색과 논의를 기초로 하여 고교에서 진로 집중과정 개발자로서 고교 교사의 전문성이 무엇인지 교육과정의 존립수준에 따라 다층적으로 알아보았다. 이를 통한 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 진로 집중과정 개발자로서 고교 교사의 전문성은 교실 수준 교육과정에서는 진로에 맞는 교과의 종류, 내용, 수준, 범위 등을 결정하고 여기에 알맞게 교수하는 전문성이 필요하다. 학교수준 교육과정에서는 학교에 개설할 진로 집중과정의 종류를 학생의 진로, 능력, 적성에 맞게 설계하거나 조율하는 교육과정의 적정화를 통하여 교육과정을 구성할 수 있는 전문성이 필요하다. 지역 수준 교육과정에서는 단위학교에서 진로 집중과정을 다양하게 개설하는데 제약점을 극복하기 위한 학교간 역할 분담을 하는데 있어 학교의 규모나 교육 환경을 살펴 특정 지역에 알맞게 진로 집중과정을 분배할 수 있는 교육과정 전문성이 필요하다. 국가수준 교육과정에서는 진로 집중과정의 종수를 획정하고 명칭을 확정하며 나아가 진로 맞춤형 대학 입시를 설계하는 전문성이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the speciality of high school teachers as career-focused course developers and draw on its implications. In order to achieve this purpose, the study performed the following research. First, this study reviewed the characteristics of high school education, and the relationship between career-focused courses and entrance exams in Korea. Second, it discussed justification within society, subjects (disciplines), and students focused on a career in high school education. Third, it reviewed the speciality of high school teachers as career-focused course developers according to their level of curriculum decision making. The result for the this study could be arranged as follows: The speciality of high school teachers as career-focused course developers is required in deciding the type, contents, scope and sequence of the subjects suitable for the careers and teaching in the classroom-level curriculum. Especially, teachers require the ability to make up the curriculum according to the needs for the school, and it is necessary to design and resolve it in the school-level curriculum. They require the speciality to distribute the career-focused courses to overcome limitations for opening various classes in a regional-level curriculum. They require the speciality to determine the type and names of the career-focused course, and design entrance exams for the national-level curriculum.
