先秦 時代 古璽에 나타나는 文字의 特色에 관한 硏究

국문 초록

古璽는 秦나라 이전의 官․私璽를 말하며 지금 전해지는 것은 대부분 춘추 전국시대의 것이다. 이는 진나라가 6국을 통일하여 문자를 하나로 만들기 이전이기 때문에 각국마다 서로 다르게 사용한 문자가 그대로 고새에 전해졌다. 그러므로 고새의 문자는 金文과 甲骨文을 위주로 하고 있으며, 풍격은 古朴하고 꾸밈이 없어 천진난만함을 표현하고 있다. 고새는 선진시대 사람들이 신용의 증명을 밝히는 징표이며 행정·권력기관의 상징으로 쓰였다. 당시에 사용했던 고새문자를 완전히 해독하지 못하고 있지만 지금까지 해독된 내용을 살펴보면, 대부분 人名․地名․官名․機構名으로 되어 있기 때문에 歷史․地理․譜學․政治 등의 학술적 가치를 지니고 있다. 그러나 고새 연구에 있어서 무엇보다 중요한 것은 그 자체가 가지고 있는 높은 예술적 가치이다. 즉, 서로 다른 모양의 印文․印鈕․印面의 形態 및 古璽文의 章法 등이 그러하다.특히 문자의 簡省․增繁은 중국의 簡字化와 밀접한 관계가 있으며, 古璽의 鈕는 후대의 조각 예술에 지대한 영향을 주었다. 따라서 고새는 서예를 연구하는 데에 중요한 위치를 차지하며, 篆刻의 새로운 영역을 개척하는 데에도 결정적인 작용을 할 것이다. 이러한 의미에서 볼 때 한국에서는 아직까지 고새에 대한 연구가 본격적으로 이루어지지 않은 시점에서 본 논문은 매우 현실적인 의미를 갖는다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

Usually, the Old Seal in China history is the kind of stamp used in the administration and a private one, and most of those that can be seen these days are thought to be handed down from the era of 'Choonchu-Junkook' . That's because a great deal of variation in the letter form was spreading before the unification of 6 nations by the 'Ch'in' empire. The letter carved in the Old Seal is a little similar to the 'gilt letters' , or 'inscriptions on bones and tortoise carapaces' (a letter prior to the ｀Ch'in´ era) and is shedding the antique, simple, and even naive and open-hearted beauty. So it's amazing aspect that the Old Seal was regarded as the tool for indicating the social credit, and the symbol of the powerhouse, like the county office, and the Justice department. It is impossible to decode the old letters, but form the studies that have been made until now, we can easily find that it is so worthwhile in terms of academic point of view because there are many names of persons, places, and organizations. But most of all, the most important value of the study of Old Seals is the unique and artistic aspect. The artistic value can be seen in the shape of the section, and the order of the Old Chinese letters carved in the section, and the letter mark on the paper. Especially, the degeneration and increase of letters in the old seals are closely related to the letters of a simple type in the modern China and the handling part(something like knob) gave the tremendous influence to the sculpture of the following times. From the above, the old seals are center-placed in the research of 'calligraphy', and will play a critical role in the development of the seal engraving. And it is not behind the times to study the old seals.
