국문 초록

본 연구는 교실문해환경과 유아의 상상력 간의 관계에서 유아의 읽기동기와 상상놀이의 매개효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 전남 광주지역 유치원에 재원중인 유아 256명과 담임교사가 참여했고, 교실의 문해환경, 유아의 읽기동기, 상상놀이 그리고 상상력에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 교실문해환경, 유아의 읽기동기, 상상놀이가 상상력에 대해 긍정적인 영향 관계 및 읽기흥미와 상상놀이의 매개효과를 확인했다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 유아의 상상력 발달 과정에서 교실문해환경, 읽기동기 그리고 상상놀이는 중요한 변인임을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서의 시사점은 유아의 상상력의 발달과 관련하여 교실문해환경, 읽기동기 그리고 상상놀이를 포함한 유아 상상력 각각에 대한 다양한 관련 변인 분석이 필요함을 의미한다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the impact of the classroom literacy environment on young children’s imagination, with a specific focus on the sequential mediating roles of children’s reading interest and imaginative play. A total of 256 children aged 5 and 18 teachers working at a kindergarten in Seoul province participated in questionnaire survey. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, and bootstrapping methods via SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 27 software. The results were as follows. First, the classroom literacy environment positively affected young children’s imagination. Second, the classroom literacy environment increased young children’s reading interest and imaginative play, which in turn increased their imagination. Third, the mediating effect of young children’s reading interest and imaginative play had a significant indirect effect with a 95% confidence interval. These results underscore the pivotal role of the classroom literacy environment in fostering young children’s imagination, facilitated by increased reading interest and imaginative play. This highlights the importance of creating literacy-rich classroom settings to nurture imagination in early childhood education.
