국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 1급 정교사 자격연수에 대한 문화기술적 연구를 통하여 교원연수문화를 이해하고 개선방안을 모색해보려는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 2002년과 2003년 P연수원에서 실시 된 '여름 집중기' 초중등 1급 정교사 자격 연수자이며 연구방법은 문헌연구, 참여관찰 및 심층 관찰을 하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 연수자들은 1정 연수에 '통과의례'와 '점수따기'라는 두 가지 의미를 부여한다. 전자의 경우, 1정 연수는 교직생활 중 한 번은 고생해야 하는 일종의 '의례적' 연수로서 연수에 참여하고 결석만 하지 않으면 무난히 자격을 부여받을 수 있다고 생각된다. 후자의 경우, 1정 연수에서의 평가점수는 승진점수에 반영되기 때문에 단지 자격증을 따기보다는 미래를 위한 대비책으로 가능한 좋은 점수를 받아 놓아야 한다고 생각한다. 연수자들은 이 두 가지 중에 어느 것에 목표를 두느냐에 따라 그들의 연수활동을 이루는 주된 행위 원리가 달라진다. '통과의례'와 관련된 문화주제는 '결석은 절대 안 된다.', '다른 교사와 만나 이야기하기에 좋은 기회가 된다.' 등과 같은 것으로 대체로 연수에 대해 소극적인 태도를 견지하고 있다. '점수따기'와 관련된 문화주제로는 '시험에 나오는 것만 공부하면 된다.', '객관식 시험을 잘 쳐야한다'이며, 주로 시험과 관련된 행위원리들이 지배적이다. 그러므로 연수자들은 각자 두 가지 중 하나의 목표에 보다 집중하면서 연수의 의미를 해석하고 연수활동에 참여한다. This study has three purposes. First, it introduces I-class qualification training of middle and high school teachers. Second, it finds out some practical ideas for developing the training program. Third, it suggests some ideas for improving the program. With these purposes, the study conducted cultural analyses with ethnograhic approach on the qualification training course in a teacher training institute in P city, Korea. As the results, major findings can be summarized as follows: First, Every teacher student feels much stress and burden in the training course. But they accept the situation inevitable to get I-class qualification and to develop professional career as a teacher. This is the reason why teacher students positively accept the ecological conditions, i.e. authority of lecturers, facility condition of the institute, and assigned works etc. Second, there is a certain difference between public and private school teachers in their goals or expectations of qualification training. While the former group believe that the results of qualification training is critical in their teacher career, the latter group think the training is an opportunity for self development or for re-creation. So two groups act with different goals and expectations in the training. However, almost of teacher students are attending at public school. Therefore, the group climate of the training is formed by public school teachers. Even though the official purpose of the training was staff development of teachers profession, the only most significant goal of the participants is 'achieving scores' in class for the promotion of their teacher career. Besides this goal, participants accept the training course as an 'rite de passage'. Consequently almost of activities in the training are related to final 'scores' in class. All the activities in class or out-of class are directly related to scores. So they focus on their efforts to study the subjects included in final scores, and they have human relations with lecturers and fellows for achieving scores.
