부모의 언어통제유형이 유아의 또래유능성에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 D시에 소재한 어린이집에 재원중인 만 3∼5세 유아 171명과 그들의 어머니와 아버지 각 171명을 대상으로 부모의 언어통제유형과 유아의 또래유능성과의 관계를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 Pearson의 적률상관계수를 산출하였고, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 어머니와 아버지의 언어통제유형과 유아의 또래유능성과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 어머니와 아버지 모두 명령적 언어통제유형을 사용하는 것과 유아의 또래유능성간에 유의한 부적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니와 아버지의 언어통제유형은 어머니, 아버지 모두 명령적 언어통제유형이 유아의 또래유능성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났으며, 어머니의 지위적 통제가 그 다음으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구는 유아의 또래유능성 발달과 부모의 언어통제가 밀접한 관련이 있음을 밝히며, 부모가 사용하는 언어통제의 유형에 따라 유아의 또래유능성에 긍정적 또는 부정적으로 영향을 미침을 보고하므로 유아의 발달에 적합한 올바른 언어통제의 필요성을 부각시켰다는 점에서 시사점을 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study was to investigate and find the relationship between parent's verbal control and peer competence. The research questions were set up as follows: 1. What is the relationship between mother's and father's verbal control and children's peer competence? 2. What are the effects of mother's and father's verbal control on children's peer competence? The subjects of this study were 171 children, aged 3, 4, and 5 years, 171 mothers and 171 fathers in 5 child-care centers, located in 3 districts of D city. The children from 5 classes of 3, 4, and 5 year olds, were selected by convenient sampling method. 750 questionnaires (250 for children, 250 for mothers, and 250 for fathers) were distributed, but only 610 were collected. Out of them, 513 questionnaires, fully and sincerely answered, were analyzed. The obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.O window program. The frequency and percentage were calculated to investigate the general characteristics of the subjects and the instrument's reliabil ty of Parent Verbal Control Type was tested with Cronbach α. Paried T test was done for indicating differences in parental verbal control types and Independent T-test was done for indicating differences in peer competence. Pearson correlation and regression analysis were carried out to find out the relationship and effects between parental verbal types and peer competence. The results of this study showed that there was a close relationship between parent's verbal control and children's peer competence and showed the importance of verbal control for children's development.
