다문화가정의 문화이해를 위한 문학 활동 실행연구: 필리핀 모-자를 대상으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화가정 아동을 위해 적합한 문학 활동이 어떠한 것인지를 탐색해 가는 실행연구로서 필리핀 모-자를 대상으로 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 아동의 흥미와 이해 수준에 맞는 두 나라 문화에 대한 비교, 양국의 생활 풍습이 담긴 옛이야기 그림책 활용, 부모의 적극적 참여, 양국의 언어를 활용한 부모-자녀 함께 책읽기, 연극놀이(creative drama)와 견학 등 다양한 확장활동의 활용 등이 바람직한 문학 활동의 특성으로 나타났다. 이 같은 ‘문화 간 이해를 위한 문학 활동’ 과정을 통해 아동들은 아버지, 어머니 나라에 대해 점차 관계 지향적 태도‘로 변화해 갔다. 어머니들의 문화접변전략은 본인의 성향 외에 가족 등 주변 정착사회의 이주민문화에 대한 태도와도 관련이 있는 것으로 추론되었으며, 자녀의 정서적 안정이나 학습에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to investigate what the characteristics of the appropriate literary activities for multicultural family were. The participants were 2 Philippine immigrant women and their 3 children. The research results could be summarized as follows. First, using materials considering children's interests as well as their understanding level was important. Second, using folk story picture-books of two countries on the same theme was so effective to find out differences and similarities between two cultures. Third, encouraging immigrant mothers to participate in their children's learning was crucial to an meaningful learning event. Therefore, it is needed to provide some opportunities to exposure their cultural identities efficiently for mothers, especially with their children. And it seemed that the acculturation strategies of mothers were influenced by our society's cultural attitudes. Through the literary activities for intercultural understanding, children's prejudices and negative attitudes to their parents' countries were decreased gradually, but not in a straight line mode.
