국문 초록

본 연구는 내러티브접근을 통한 세계이해 교육 실행 연구로 아동들에게 다양한 내러티브 자료들을 제공하고 이를 통해 아동의 세계에 대한 인식, 정서, 행동적 차원에서 어떠한 변화가 일어나는지를 추적하였다. 11세 초등학생 6명을 대상으로 그림책, 실화, 사진 등 다양한 글로벌 이슈와 문화적 다양성을 담고 있는 이야기 자료들을 가지고 매주 1회, 1시간 30분 씩 집단 활동과 토론을 수행하였다. 연구결과 참여 아동들은 자신들을 둘러싼 세계와 그 속에 살고 있는 사람들, 그리고 글로벌 이슈에 대해 인식적 차원에서, 정서적 차원에서, 그리고 행동적 차원에서 변화를 나타냈으며, 특히 스스로 세계를 변화시켜 나가고 싶다는 의지와 이는 자신의 삶의 이야기를 변화시킴으로써 이루어낼 수 있다는 자신감을 뚜렷하게 보여주었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this action research was to suggest a model for global education with narrative approach and to bridge between changes of knowledge and action for children related to global issues. Six 4th grade elementary school children were participated in this action research. Various narrative materials were presented for giving children some global issues and those interconnectedness as well as interdependent. Real stories, photos of children who live in another country, and faction and fiction picture-storybooks, video clips were used each session respectively. Participants did make a journal with drawing and some discussion related to given topic in each session. Three dimensions were examined for finding any changes of children's knowledge, feeling, and their behavior. Result revealed that children showed changes in terms of those three dimensions over seven sessions. They showd changes of perception to the world, expressed empathy to people and animals, and their willingness to help them, and to solve global issues. Especially they got impression from real story about three children: Evan. Bailey, Anthony. Participants got to have confidence that they don't need to be an adult to change the world through sessions. They started to make some changes on their lives as well as the world surrounding them. They are now reconstructing their narrative and facing a turning point in their lives.
