지구화시대의 문화 넘나들기 - 문화교육 개념을 통해 본 어린이 문학교육의 방향 -

국문 초록

21세기는 공간적으로 지구 전체적이며 시간적으로 동시대적인 지구화시대(global era)라고 할 수 있다. 이제 전 세계는 하나의 운명공동체를 형성하면서 인류 공존을 위해 국가들 간의 상호협력 문제를 중요한 과제로 생각하지 않을 수 없다. 경제뿐만 아니라 문화 역시 점차 국가이데올로기의 지배와 통제에서 벗어나 지구적 관점에서 형성되고 전개되는 양상을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 한국에서 명확한 의미구분 없이 사용되고 있는 다양한 문화교육 개념들을 교육학적 차원에서 간략히 분석하고 설명하는데, 그 내용은 국제이해교육, 다문화교육, 횡단문화교육 그리고 상호문화교육이다. 결론 부분에서는 이 개념들이 지구화사회 및 교육에 지니는 의미를 검토하면서 논의된 문화교육의 개념을 전제로 지구화시대의 어린이 문학교육이 나아가야 할 방향과 과제가 무엇인지 언급하게 된다.

영문 초록

In the global age cultural circumstances cannot be seized with geographical, political or linguistic categories. The designation “international understanding” accents still the older conception that there is humans of national states, who cooperate with international in certain tasks. Already for years the term “international” is replaced in many spheres by the term “intercultural”. Thus it is emphasized that not the nationality, but the cultural orientation is crucial factor for the success of cooperation. Regarding the education in the multicultural societies we can point out that there are four different basic concepts of cosmopolitan education. Those are “education for international understanding”, “multicultural education”, “transcultural education” and “intercultural education”. In relation to the other three educational concepts transcultural education is characterized by that it is directed always toward the further development of single cultures, whether they are majority or minority cultures. But the danger of this concept lies in negating the real cultural differences. Therefore it is the task of the intercultural education to educate the growing-up generation effectively in the globalizing world. As the intercultural education aims at the correct handling of cultural differences, also the children's book education should promote children intercultural competence effectively in the transcultural society.
