창작그림책에 나타난 아동의 거짓말

국문 초록

본 연구는 창작그림책에서 다루고 있는 거짓말 주제 그림책을 탐색하여 그림책에 나타난 아동 거짓말의 특성을 알아보고자 하였다. 그에 따라 아동의 거짓말이 등장하는 내용의 창작그림책 24권을 최종 선정하여, 아동이 거짓말을 하는 동기, 거짓말하는 대상에 따른 동기, 아동이 거짓말하는 대상의 반응과 대처 방법을 알아보았다. 연구문제에 따라 연구결과는 다음과 같이 정리되었다. 첫째, 창작그림책 속 거짓말의 동기 중 자기방어적 동기가 가장 많이 나타났다. 둘째, 창작그림책에서 거짓말을 하는 대상으로는 어머니가 가장 많이 나타났으며, 친구, 아버지, 형제, 교사, 할머니, 기타 순으로 나타났다. 그중 어머니에게 자기방어적 거짓말을 가장 많이 하였으며, 다음으로 하기 싫은 일을 피하려고 거짓말을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 친구에게는 자기방어적 거짓말, 형제에게는 호기심 혹은 특정한 동기 없이 거짓말을 가장 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 그림책에서 아동이 자신의 거짓말에 대해 잘못을 자백하게 되면, 성인은 아동의 거짓말에 대해 비교적 관대하게 반응하고 아이들에게 반성할 기회를 주었고, 구체적인 문제해결 방법을 제시하기도 하였다. 또래나 형제는 거짓말한 아동이 자신의 거짓말에 대해 부정적, 자연적 결과를 맞이하게 두었는데, 성인에게는 문제 해결 방법의 도움을 받았다. 본 연구 결과는 아동이 거짓말을 하는 상황과 동기를 이해하는데 참고자료가 될 수 있으며, 유아교사와 부모들이 거짓말을 하는 아동 거짓말의 문제를 다루는 데 있어 보조매체로써 적절한 그림책을 선정하고 활용하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the motives and targets of children's lies by exploring the lie-themed picture books dealt with in creative picture books, and to seek various ideas for countermeasures. Accordingly, 24 creative picture books containing children's lies were finally selected, and the motivation for children to lie and the motivation according to the target of lying were analyzed, and the reaction and coping method of the target to which children lie were investigated. The research results are summarized as follows. First of all, among the motives of lies in creative picture books, self-defensive motives appeared the most. Second, mothers appeared most often as subjects who lied in creative picture books, followed by friends, fathers, brothers, teachers, grandmothers, and others in that order. Among them, self-defense lies with their mother the most, followed by lying to avoid doing something they do not want to do. Self-defense lies to friends, and lies out of curiosity or without specific motive to siblings were most often. Third, when children confess to their lies in picture books, adults react relatively leniently to children's lies and give children a chance to reflect. The results of this study will help understand the situations and motives for children to lie, and help early childhood teachers and parents to select and utilize appropriate picture books in dealing with the problem of children's lies.
