통합교과에서의 미술교육: 쟁점과 과제

국문 초록

본 연구는 현재 초등학교 1, 2학년에서 이루어지고 있는 통합교과의 2022 개정 교육과정과 교과서를 둘러싼 연구들을 미술교육의 관점에서 살펴보고 그 결과로 드러난 현재의 쟁점과 과제를 다루는 것을 목적으로 한다. 제4차 교육과정에서 시작된 통합교과에서 음미체 중심의 통합으로 제시한 ‘즐거운 생활’에서 시대를 살아가는 학생들은 삶에서 정보와 문화를 접하며 음악, 체육과 통합되어 미술 활동이 진행되어 왔다. 현행 2022 개정 통합교과 교육과정 및 교과서에서 일부 제시되고 있는 미술은 표현 재료와 방법 등이 제한적으로 제시되며 통합교과의 일환으로 자율성과 창의성이 제대로 구현되지 못하고 있다. 다른 과목의 수단으로서 미술활동이 무엇을 의미하는지, 미술교육 전문가 없이 작성된 통합교육과정에서 제대로 기능하고 있는지조차 고려되지 못하고 진행되고 있다. 그 결과 예술적 역량을 위한 연구 집필자의 다각화와 전문성 인식, 예술적 사고와 표현의 융합 부족, 예술 특유의 체험적 학습 등에 문제가 있으며 통합교과에서의 미술교육에서는 지식의 다차원성, 정서 발달과 창의적 표현, 문화적 맥락 반영이라는 미술교육의 요소를 충분히 고려하고 반영할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 통합교과에 미술 교과교육 전문가의 참여, 미술을 미술답게 다루는 미술적 내용의 도입, 이를 가능하게 하는 교육과정 및 교과서 집필 체제의 재검토가 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study is to examine the 2022 revised integrated subjects and textbooks currently being conducted in the 1st and 2nd grade of elementary school from the perspective of art education, and to deal with the current issues and tasks revealed as a result. In the ‘pleasant life’ presented as an integration centered in the integrated subjects, which began in the 4th curriculum, students living in the era encountered and chose information and culture in their lives, and art activities have been conducted integrated with music and physical education. Art, which is partially presented in the current 2022 revised integrated subjects and textbooks, is limited in terms of expression materials and methods according to the subject and content that advocate experiences and students' lives, and creativity are not properly implemented as part of the integrated subjects. It is not even considered what art activities mean as a means of other subjects or whether they are functioning properly in the integrated subjects written without art education experts. As a result, there are problems with the diversification of research authors for artistic competence, recognition of expertise, lack of convergence of artistic thinking and expression, and experiential learning unique to art. In art education in integrated subjects, it is necessary to fully consider and reflect the elements of art education such as knowledge multidimensionality, emotional development and creative expression, and reflection of cultural context. To this end, it is necessary to review the curriculum and textbook system that enables the participation of art education experts in integrated subjects, the introduction of artistic art,content and the system that will enable these.
