칸트 윤리학에 비추어 본 도덕과 교육의 성격

국문 초록

본 연구는 칸트의 선험철학에 함의되어 있는 도덕교육의 개념을 드러내고 그것이 현재의 도덕과 교육의 성격을 밝히는 데에 주는 시사점을 고찰하기 위한 연구이다. 칸트 윤리학의 으뜸가는 의의는 그것이 도덕의 원천을 ‘표현 이전의 마음’을 가리키는 이념(또는 아프리오리)에서 찾고 있다는 점에 있다. 선험철학에 의하면, ‘표현 이전의 마음’으로서의 이념은 우리 각자가 지니고 있는 마음과 별개로 존재하는 또 하나의 마음이 아니라, 우리의 마음 안에 붙박혀 있는 이상적 표준으로서의 마음을 가리킨다. 도덕성 획득의 맥락에서 볼 때, 칸트 윤리학은 ‘자기 인식을 통한 심성함양’이라는 도덕교육의 개념을 함축하고 있으며, 이와 같은 도덕교육의 개념은 하나의 독립된 교과로서의 도덕과의 성격에 대한 이론적 해명을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the concept of moral education implied in kant s transcendental philosophy, especially it s implication on the nature of moral as an school subject in today s curriculum. According to transcendental philosophy, morality has the metaphysical(or transcendental) origin, that is transcendental idea(hereafter Idea ). Idea or A Priori is not abstract metaphysical entity but pure form of mind which is embedded in the innermost of our ordinary mind. Kant maintains that Idea is the intelligible cause (or logical cause) of all kind of knowledge. It is here that the most principal significance of kant s ethics emerges. From the educational point of view, kant s ethics presents cultivation of mind by way of self-knowledge as the concept of moral education. Moral knowledge in its proper nature is not at all useful information or ability to solve daily problem. It is the self-knowledge or reflective knowledge, which is the knowledge of our own being and its proper role in the world. The concept of cultivation of mind by way of self-knowledge present the theoretical explication of the nature of moral as an school subject in our curriculum.
