국문 초록

본 연구에서는 초기 부적응 도식이 청소년의 우울과 자살 생각에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적으로 경남 창원시와 김해시에 소재한 4개 중학교 702명(남학생 283명, 여학생 419명; 1학년 243명, 2학년 239명, 3학년 220명)의 중학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초기 부적응 도식 중 외로움 불신 학대, 취약성, 결함, 실패, 통제 부족 도식의 정도가 높을수록 청소년의 우울을 높이고, 자기희생 도식의 정도가 높을수록 청소년의 우울을 떨어뜨리며, 특히 외로움 불신 학대 도식은 우울을 유발하는 핵심 도식인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 취약성, 외로움 불신 학대, 결함 도식의 정도가 높을수록 청소년의 자살 생각을 높이며, 특히 취약성 도식이 자살 생각을 유발하는 핵심 도식인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 초기 부적응 도식이 청소년의 우울과 자살 생각을 일으키는 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 밝힘으로써, 청소년의 우울 및 자살 생각 예방을 위한 상담적 접근 방법을 모색하는데 유용한 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of early maladaptive schemas on depression and suicidal ideation in adolescents. The study was carried out through a sample survey with 702 students (238 males, 419 females; 1st grade: 243, 2nd grade: 239, 3rd grade: 220) from four middle schools in the Changwon, Gimhae, and Gyeongnam provinces. This research resulted in a number of key findings: First, the higher loneliness/mistrust/abuse, vulnerability, defectiveness, failure, and insufficient self-control adolescents had, the higher levels of depression they experienced. Additionally, self-sacrifice had a negative influence on depression. Specifically, it showed that loneliness/mistrust/abuse are key predictors of depression among adolescents. Second, the higher the vulnerability, loneliness/mistrust/abuse, and defectiveness adolescents had, the higher suicidal ideation they experienced. Vulnerability was the most significant predictor of suicidal ideation among adolescents. This study suggests that because early maladaptive schemas are significant predictors, they provide important implications for treatment and prevention strategies in the counseling of depression and suicidal ideation in adolescents.
