국문 초록

이스라엘인이 집단적 허위의식에서 벗어나 팔레스타인인에게 평등한 권리를 인정하는 것이 분쟁 해결의 열쇠이다. 이스라엘은 선주민으로부터 뺏은 땅 위에 건설된 식민지 국가이며, 정착식민주의로서의 그 본질에 대한 이해는 아파르트헤이트 시대의 남아프리카와의 유비를 통해 심화된다. 시오니즘은 제노사이드에 대한 경향을 포함하여 동시대의 일본 제국주의와 많은 유사점이 있다. 유럽 유대인의 홀로코스트와 팔레스타인의 종족청소의 비교를 금지하는 팔레스타인인의 비인간화, 동물화는 이스라엘의 내셔널 아이덴티티의 근간을 이룬다. 트럼프 정권하의 미국에서 반(反)시오니스트 유대인들은 마이너리티의 교차적 연대의 중요성을 강조하고 있는데, 동아시아에서도 팔레스타인 연대 운동은 모든 억압된 공동체의 해방을 추구할 것이다.

영문 초록

According to Palestinian historian Rashid Khalidi, the key to the solution of the conflict resides in how Israelis can get out of their false self-image of eternal victim and come to recognize equal right to Palestinians. Israel is a colonial state built upon the land appropriated by a violent expel of indigenous people. Its foundation is a typical example of settler colonialism, the nature of which a prudent analogy with the case of South Africa under the Apartheid regime helps us to understand. Zionism movement also shows many similarities with contemporaneous Japanese imperialism, during its invasion and rule of Korea and of some part of China, including their common irrepressible penchant to genocide. Settler colonialism is inseparable with a hyper military organization of its community. Dehumanization, even animalization of Palestinians by Israelis politicians as well as by ordinary people facilitates and rationalizes their cruel treatment. The prohibition of the comparison between Jewish holocaust in Europe and ethnic cleansing of Palestine is essential for the construction of Israeli national identity. With the return of Donald Trump as US president, antizionist American Jews stress on the importance of intersectional solidarity of different ethnic, racial, religious or sexual minorities, which now are harshly repressed by public power. They also affirm that solidarity with Palestinian people constitutes a front line of the collective resistance. Under those circumstances, international popular movement against the genocide in Gaza, also in East Asia, tends to aspire for the liberation of any oppressed communities.
