일본의 복신신앙(福神信仰) 고찰 - 다이코쿠텐(大黑天)을 중심으로

국문 초록

“A study on Japanese belief in good fortune” examined the symbolism of Daikokuten in Japan and the relationship between acceptance and influence on Daikokuten belief. From the Kamakura period to the Muromachi period, the Daikokuten faith spread rapidly among the Japanese people in Kyoto, who suffered from war, and religious activities flourished. In the painful reality of the Warring States era, it is believed that the desire for the salvation from the God of Fortune created a daikokuten unique to Japan, holding a treasure bag and Uchidenokozuchi in today’s short and chubby appearance. Daikokuten’s symbols, a treasure bag, and an uchidenokozuchi, were enough to send a visual message that people could be blessed if they did a good deed. It is also believed that the Daikokuten faith has gained greater popularity through the human aspect of the Daikokuten in “Daikokumai”. Today, in Japanese popular culture, Uchidenokozuchi, the magic hammer of Daikokuten, is used as a mysterious item in comics and various animations. In addition, it was confirmed that the character Daikokuten itself functions as a literary device of good luck and is passed down in various places in modern culture.

영문 초록

本稿｢日本の福神信仰考察｣は古典文学から現代大衆文化につながる日本の福神信仰の特性と文化的現象を大黒天を中心に究明し、大黒天信仰(大黑信仰)の中に込められた日本人の意識構造を再照明した。 日本に伝わった大黒天の姿は、戦国時代の日本人の精神世界や観念の中で、福神の救いを求めたイメ-ジが、今日の背が低くて福々しい姿に、宝の袋と打出の小槌を持っている日本特有の福神大黒天を創り出したと思う。 大黒天のシンボルである宝の袋と打出の小槌は、人々に善行をすれば福を受けることができるという視覚的なメッセ-ジを伝えるのに十分であり、｢大黒舞｣の大黒天の人間的な面を通じて大黒天信仰はより大きな大衆性を確保したと考える。 今日の日本の大衆文化の中では、大黒天は男女一組のキャラクタ-で派生する場合と、福神の神格だけでなく、大黒天の起源である戦闘と破壊の神という相反する神格を一緒に見せる多様で独特なキャラクタ-を作り出していることが分かった。また、大黒天の打出の小槌は仮想の現実を描く様々なアニメ-ションに吸収され、異世界の特別な存在の神秘的なアイテムとして使われ、現代日本の大衆文化の多様なところで伝承されているという点を確認することができた。
