일본어 모어화자의 외래어 사용 실태와 한국인 학습자의 인식 분석

In this paper, I extract loanwords that appear in the daily conversations of native Japanese speakers, based on the CEJC (Corpus of Everyday Japanese Conversations). I further classify these loanwords according to semantic fields using a classification vocabulary list and compare them with loanwords found in newspapers. In addition, I report the results of a questionnaire survey that was conducted to examine Korean learners’ perceptions of loanwords in Japanese. Only 27 loanwords appeared in the top 100 most frequent loanwords in daily conversations and those in newspapers. Whilst previous studies have shown that loanwords in newspapers are most commonly related to “abstract relations,” the results of this survey indicate that loanwords in daily conversations are most frequently related to “products and tools.” In particular, most of them fall under the categories of “food” (1.43) and “tools” (1.45). These are followed by the category “daily life” (1.33), which corresponds to “human activity - mental and behavioural activities.” In a questionnaire designed to explore learners’ perceptions of loanwords, 70% or more of participants responded that the number of loanwords in Japanese is increasing. The most challenging aspect of loanwords for language learners, according to their responses, is the difference in pronunciation between the loanwords and their original forms. On the other hand, the questions regarding the semantic distinction between loanwords and semantically similar Sino- Japanese words revealed that many learners struggle to make accurate distinctions.

영문 초록

本稿では、日常会話コーパスであるCEJCを基に日本語母語話者の日常会話に出現した外来語を抽出した後、分類語彙表に従って意味分野を分類し、新聞に出現した外来語と比較·対照した。また、韓国人日本語学習者の外来語に対する認識をアンケート調査した。 日常会話と新聞の頻度上位100位に共通して出現した外来語は27語のみであった。先行研究では新聞に出現する外来語は主に｢抽象的関係｣に該当する語が最も多いととされていたが本研究の結果、日常会話に出現する外来語は｢生産物および用具｣に該当するものが最も多く、特に｢食料(1.43)｣と｢道具(1.45)｣に該当する外来語が多かった。その次は｢人間活動-精神および行為｣に該当する｢生活(1.33)｣の順になった。 学習者の外来語に対する認識を尋ねたアンケートでは、70%以上の学習者が日本語における外来語が増加していることを認識していると答えた。外来語学習に最も難しい点は外来語の発音が原語と異なることを挙げた。 一方、外来語と類義関係にある漢字語との意味の弁別に関する質問に対しては、多くの学習者が正確な弁別ができず、困っていることが分かった。
