국문 초록

환경 문제가 글로벌 차원에서 중요한 의제로 부상하면서, 기업들은 지속 가능한 경영 전략의 일환으로 환경 혁신을 적극적으로 도입하고 있다. 본 연구는 환경 혁신을 기업의 생산 관련 환경 혁신과 소비자의 제품 사용 관련 환경 혁신으로 구분하고, 이들이 혁신 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 또한, 제품 혁신과 공정 혁신 활동을 조절 변수로 설정하여, 이 두 가지 혁신 활동이 환경 혁신의 성과를 어떻게 강화하는지를 동적역량이론의 틀 안에서 탐색한다. 실증 분석에는 한국 기업을 대상으로 한 ‘기술혁신조사 2022’ 데이터를 활용하였으며, 연구 결과는 각 환경 혁신 유형이 기업의 내부 효율성과 외부 시장 경쟁력에 상이한 방식으로 혁신 성과에 기여하며, 제품 혁신과 공정 혁신 활동이 이 관계를 유의미하게 조절함을 보여준다. 본 연구는 환경 혁신이 기업의 지속 가능한 성장과 경쟁력 확보에 어떠한 전략적 역할을 수행할 수 있는지를 실증적으로 분석함으로써, 환경 혁신의 효과적인 관리 방안을 제시하고, 향후 기업이 추구해야 할 혁신 활동의 방향성과 실천적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

As environmental issues emerge as a critical global agenda, companies are increasingly adopting environmental innovation as part of their sustainable management strategies. This study classifies environmental innovation into two categories—process-related environmental innovation and product-use-related environmental innovation—and analyzes their impact on firms' innovation performance. It further explores how product innovation and process innovation activities, as moderating variables, enhance the effectiveness of environmental innovation within the framework of dynamic capabilities theory. The empirical analysis is based on data from the 2022 Korean Innovation Survey, targeting Korean firms. The results show that each type of environmental innovation contributes to innovation performance through different mechanisms, affecting both internal efficiency and external market competitiveness. Furthermore, product and process innovation activities significantly moderate these relationships. This study provides strategic insights into the effective management of environmental innovation and offers practical implications for firms seeking sustainable growth and long-term competitive advantage through innovation.
