중등학생 대상 순천만 생태 융합형 문화예술 프로그램의 적용 사례

국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 순천만 생태환경 보전에 관한 주제를 다루면서 중고등학생들의 적합한 눈높이에 맞도록 창의적으로 자신의 역할을 표현할 수 있는 연극 놀이 기반의 문화예술 교육을 실행한 사례를 탐구하는데 있다. 연구 대상은 순천만 습지에서 사는 짱뚱어, 칠게, 흑두루미 등 순천만 습지 생물의 이야기를 토대로 연극, 춤, 노래 등의 융합형 문화예술교육 프로그램을 적용한 사례이다. 동아리 활동의 일환으로 약 40여명의 학생들이 2024년 8월부터 12월 사이에 순천만 인근에 위치한 B 중학교 및 H 고등학교에서 프로그램에 참여하였다. 우리는 참여 학생들 및 강사들에 대상으로 사진, 영상, 면담 및 메모 등을 수집하였으며 중학생들의 만족도 조사를 추가하였다. 다양한 질적 자료를 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들은 연극을 함께 준비하고 연습하는 과정에서 힘든 부분이 상당히 있었지만 각자가 지닌 재능과 끼를 다양한 방식으로 발산하는 모습을 보여주었다. 둘째, 강사들은 프로그램이 진행되면서 참여 학생들이 순천만과 같은 생태환경의 보전에 대하여 관심을 가지면서 그에 대한 가치를 조금씩 느끼면서 성장하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 셋째, 문화예술 동아리(음악, 댄스, 연극 등)에서 활동하던 H 고등학생들은 이 프로그램에서 진로 분야와 직결되는 부분이 많아서 적극적으로 참여하는 경향을 보여주었다. 반면에 중학생의 경우에 연극으로 진로를 고려하게 된 학생은 한 명이었으며 나머지 학생들은 다양한 장르를 접해보는 경험을 쌓을 수 있었다. 넷째, 전반적으로 참여 학생들은 발표회를 통하여 생태보전에 대한 이야기를 토대로 연극과 음악, 춤 활동에 참여한 경험이 인간과 자연의 공존에 대한 모종의 메시지를 전달하는 의미있는 경험을 하였음을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to explore a case of implementing a cultural arts education based on drama play that allows middle school students to creatively express their roles at an appropriate eye level while dealing with the topic of ecological environmental conservation in Suncheon Bay. The research subject is a case of applying a fusion cultural arts education program such as drama, dance, and song based on the story of the wetland creatures of Suncheon Bay, such as the mudskipper, the black-faced spoonbill, and the black-faced spoonbill living in the wetland. As part of the club activities, about 40 students participated in the program at B Middle School and H High School located near Suncheon Bay between August and December 2024. We collected photos, videos, interviews, and notes from the participating students and instructors, and extra satisfaction surveys of middle school students. The results of the interpretation of various qualitative data are as follows. First, although the students had a difficult time preparing and practicing the play together, they showed that they each displayed their talents and skills in various ways. Second, as the program progressed, the instructors were able to see that the participating students grew as they became interested in the conservation of the ecological environment such as Suncheon Bay and gradually felt its value. Third, H High School students who were active in cultural and artistic clubs (music, dance, theater, etc.) tended to actively participate in this program because many parts were directly related to their career fields. On the other hand, among middle school students, only one student considered theater as a career, and the rest of the students were able to gain experience in various genres. Fourth, overall, the participating students showed that their experience of participating in theater, music, and dance activities based on stories about ecological conservation through the presentation was a meaningful experience that conveyed a message about the coexistence of humans and nature.
