국문 초록

본 연구는 대한민국에서 나타난 이상동기 범죄에 대한 관심을 바탕으로, 우울이 공격성으로 표출되는 데 있어 열등감의 조절 효과를 탐색하였다. 대학생 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS 29와 PROCESS Macro 4.2 (Model 1)를 활용해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 열등감은 우울과 공격성 간의 관계를 유의하게 조절하였으며, 열등감이 높을수록 우울이 공격성에 미치 는 영향이 강하게 나타났다. Johnson-Neyman 기법을 통해 우울이 공격성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 열등감의 경계값을 도출하 였다. 이러한 결과는 열등감 수준에 따라 우울의 외현적 표출이 달라질 수 있음을 시사하며, 우울과 공격성 간 연결을 완화하기 위한 열등감 개입의 필요성을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the moderating effect of inferiority in the relationship between depression and aggression, in light of growing societal interest in motive-ambiguous violent crimes in South Korea. A survey was conducted with 200 university students, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 29 and PROCESS Macro 4.2 (Model 1). The results revealed that inferiority significantly moderated the effect of depression on aggression, such that the influence of depression on aggression was stronger at higher levels of inferiority. The Johnson-Neyman technique was employed to identify the inferiority threshold at which the effect of depression on aggression became statistically significant. These findings suggest that the external expression of depression may vary depending on levels of inferiority, and highlight the need for targeted interventions to reduce inferiority in efforts to prevent the escalation of depressive symptoms into aggressive behaviors.
