국문 초록

이 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 스트레스가 자살 경향성에 미치는 영향을 우울의 매개효과와 가족응집력의 조절효과를 포함한 조절된 매개모형을 통해 분석하였다. 한국 청소년 6,689명을 대상으로 한 대규모 설문자료를 바탕으로, Hayes(2022)의 PROCESS Macro Model 8을 적용하여 스트레스가 자살 경향성에 미치는 간접경로와 그 경로에서의 가족응집력의 조절 역할을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 스트레스는 우울과 자살 경향성 모두에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 우울은 스트레스와 자살 경향성 간의 관계를 유의하게 매개하였다. 또한 가족응집력은 스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향을 완충하고, 간접경로 전반에서 유의한 조절효과를 나타내는 보호요인으로 확인되었다. 조건부 간접효과 분석에서는 가족응집력 수준이 낮을수록 스트레스가 우울을 경유하여 자살 경향성에 미치는 영향이 강하게 나타났으며, 가족응집력이 높을수록 그 효과는 유의하게 감소하였다. 조절된 매개효과 지수 또한 통계적으로 유의하였으며, 이는 가족응집력이 정서적 위험요인이 자살 경향성으로 전이되는 경로를 완충할 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 스트레스, 우울, 자살 경향성 간의 심리사회적 기제를 구조화하여 제시함과 동시에, 가족응집력을 중심으로 한 보호 요인의 조절효과를 실증적으로 규명함으로써, 청소년 자살 예방을 위한 다층적 개입 전략 수립에 기초자료를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the effects of stress on suicidal tendencies among adolescents by applying a moderated mediation model incorporating the mediating role of depression and the moderating role of family cohesion. Using data from 6,689 Korean adolescents, Hayes’ PROCESS Macro Model 8 was employed to analyze both the indirect effects of stress on suicidal tendencies via depression and the conditional role of family cohesion in moderating these pathways. The results indicated that stress had significant positive effects on both depression and suicidal tendencies, while depression significantly mediated the relationship between stress and suicidal tendencies. Family cohesion moderated the association between stress and depression, and also reduced the overall strength of the indirect path from stress to suicidal tendencies via depression. Conditional indirect effect analyses showed that the mediating effect of depression was stronger among adolescents with lower levels of family cohesion, and weaker among those with higher family cohesion. The index of moderated mediation was also statistically significant, indicating that family cohesion buffers the emotional impact of stress on suicidal outcomes. This study offers an integrated perspective on the psychosocial mechanisms linking stress, depression, and suicidal tendencies, and provides empirical evidence on the protective role of family cohesion. These findings may inform the development of multi-layered intervention strategies targeting adolescent mental health and suicide prevention.
