필사본 원문 입력 방식에 대한 종합적 고찰: 과시 자료를 중심으로

국문 초록

현재 국가적 지원을 통해 다양한 기관에서 고문헌 연구 및 국역 사업이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 고문헌의 원문 입력 방법론에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 부족한 실정이다. 기존 연구들은 원문 입력 오류 지적이나 검색 시스템 구축에 초점을 맞췄으며, 체계적인 원문 입력 지침을 마련하는 연구는 미흡하다. 각 기관이 일부 원문 입력 지침을 마련하고 있지만, 정보가 제한적이어서 입력 과정에서 개인적 판단에 의존하는 경우가 많다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구는 필사본 자료, 특히 과시 자료를 활용하여 원문 입력의 표준안을 마련하고자 한다. 과시 자료는 초고본 형태로 남아 있어 다양한 필사 방식을 분석하는 데 적합하기 때문이다. 현재 번역 기관에서는 현대적 활용을 위해 이체자, 속자, 약자 등을 정자로 변환하고 있으며, 고문서·간찰·과시 자료 등도 이에 맞춰 정자로 변환하는 방안을 적극적으로 모색해야 한다. 각 기관에서 사용하는 수정 기호는 통일되지 않았으나, 일정한 기준을 마련하면 작업자의 이해도를 높이고 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 비코드 입력 방식에서는 한자를 직관적으로 인식할 수 있도록 불필요한 기호를 줄이고, 한자 생김꼴 지시 부호와 필수 기호만 사용하는 방식이 합리적이다. 또한, 필사본 원문 입력 과정에서 사용되는 환치, 삽입, 효주, 반복, 말소, 행갈이 기호를 체계적으로 정리하고, 실제 사례를 함께 제시하여 활용도를 극대화해야 한다.

영문 초록

Various institutions are actively conducting research on historical documents and translation projects with national support. However, research on methodologies for transcribing the original texts of historical documents remains relatively insufficient. Existing studies have primarily focused on identifying transcription errors and developing search systems, while systematic guidelines for text input have not been thoroughly established. Although some institutions have developed partial guidelines for text input, the information is limited, leading to frequent reliance on individual judgment during the transcription process. To address this issue, this study aims to establish a standardized transcription framework using manuscript materials, particularly examination materials, as they exist in draft form and thus allow for the analysis of various transcription methods. Translation agencies currently convert variant characters, simplified characters, and abbreviated characters into standard characters for modern use. Similarly, historical documents, letters, and examination materials should also be actively converted into standard characters. While the correction symbols used by different institutions are not yet standardized, establishing consistent guidelines would improve workers’ comprehension and enhance efficiency. In non-coded input methods, reducing unnecessary symbols and using only essential markers and character shape indicators provides a more intuitive approach to recognizing Chinese characters. Additionally, the editorial symbols used in the transcription process, such as substitution, insertion, annotation, repetition, deletion, and line breaks, should be systematically organized. Presenting real-world examples alongside these symbols would further enhance their usability.
