공주 수촌리고분군의 연구 현황과 과제

국문 초록

무령왕릉 발굴이후 최대의 고고학적 성과이고 백제사 연구에 많은 자 료를 제공해 주었다. 2003년 최초 Ⅱ지역에서 백제시대 고분 6기가 확인되었으며 금동관, 금동식리, 중국제 자기, 환두대도 등 수많은 위세품이 출토되어 한성백 제가 웅진으로 천도할 수 있는 기반을 마련해준 제지 수장층의 무덤으 로 추정되고 있다. 이후 Ⅱ지역에 대한 1~5차(2011~2015) 발굴조사를 진행하였고, 18 기의 백제시대 고분 및 대형 적석유구가 추가로 확인되었다. 유물은 금 동식리을 비롯한 금제이식,환두대도, 장식구슬 등 당시 최상급 지배자 들만 가졌을 위세품이 출토되어, 무덤의 주인공의 신분이 4~5세기 공 주지역 최고 지배자였던 것으로 재차 확인되었다. 또한 Ⅱ지역에 6~8차(2016~2019) 발굴조사를 진행하여, 백제시대 대형 고분 5기를 포함한 모두 27기의 고분이 추가로 확인되었다. 이에 Ⅰ지역으로 대표되었던 청동기~초기철기유적 뿐만 아니라 백제 시대의 또 다른 대형 고분군이 조성되어 있던 사실을 밝혀낼 수 있었다. 묘제의 변화를 보여주는 다양한 고분의 형식 속에 남성과 여성, 조영 세력의 관계 등을 살필 수 있는 계기가 되었고, 제의 관련 시설을 통해 지방의 상장례 연구에 중요한 자료를 제공하였다고 하겠다. 또한 토광묘 → 수혈식석곽묘 → 횡구식석곽묘 → 횡혈식석실분으로 이어지는 변화 속에 마한의 재지적 전통에서 새로운 묘제의 수용양상과 중앙을 통한 외래문물 입수과정을 파악할 수 있었다. 수촌리고분군은 한성 백제와 당시 재지세력의 관계, 지방통치, 분묘 의 변화양상, 백제 금속공예 등을 연구하는데 핵심적인 자료를 제공하 였다. 비교적 짧은 시간 동안 다양한 형태의 백제 중앙 묘제를 지속적 으로 받아들이면서도 토착적 성격을 계속 유지하고 있는 세력으로, 백 제 고분의 변화상을 모두 볼 수 있는 유일한 유적이다.

영문 초록

The Suchon-ri tombs are the greatest archaeological achievement since the excavation of the tomb of King Muryeong and have provided a lot of data for the study of Baekje history. In 2003, six Baekje tombs were identified in the II area for the first time, and numerous prestige items such as gilt-bronze coffins, gilt-bronze sikri, Chinese-made porcelain, and gilt-bronze pottery were excavated, which is believed to be the tomb of the paper chief who laid the foundation for Hanseong Baekje to move to Woongjin. Since then, the 1st to 5th (2011-2015) excavation of the II area has been conducted, and 18 additional Baekje-era tombs and large-scale red oil spheres have been identified. The relics were excavated, including gilt-bronze sikri, gilt-bronze transplants, whalers, and decorative beads, which would have been possessed by only the top rulers at the time, and it was confirmed again that the main character of the tomb was the supreme ruler of the Gongju area in the 4th and 5th centuries. In addition, a total of 27 additional tombs, including five large tombs from the Baekje period, were identified by excavating the 6th to 8th (2016-2019) in the II area. As a result, it was possible to reveal the fact that not only the Bronze Age and early Iron ruins represented by the I region, but also another large ancient tomb of the Baekje period was built. The Suchon-ri tombs provided key data for studying the relationship between Hanseong Baekje and its local powers at the time, local governance, changes in tombs, and Baekje metal crafts. While continuing to accept various types of Baekje central tombs for a relatively short period of time, it is the only site where you can see all the changes in Baekje's ancient tombs.
