국문 초록

목적: 이 연구의 목적은 다양성의 관점에서 우리 학생들이 어떻게 존재하고 있는지 살펴봄으로써, 거시적이고 철학적인 차원에서 (한)국어교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 탐색해 보려는 것이다. 방법: 관련 담론이나 정책 및 현황에 주목하여 학교 안과 바깥에서 ‘학생’과 ‘다문화 학생들’을 어떻게 대상화하고 있는지 살펴보았다. 결과: 다양성의 관점에서 보았을 때 우리 학생들은 학교 안에서 배우고 자라는 기능적 정체성이 부여된 채 사회와 분리되어 존재하고 있었다. 다문화 학생들은 ‘다문화’로 뭉뚱그려진 채 분류되어, 이중 언어 유지가 어려운 상황에서 언어 발달의 문제를 겪거나 게토화로 인해 한국어 학습에 어려움을 겪게 될 위험에 처해 있었다. 이러한 상황을 타개하기 위하여 다양성의 시대에 걸맞게 (한)국어교육의 관점, 구체적으로 학생관 및 교육관을 혁신하고 그에 따라 접근 방법과 교육 내용 등을 확장할 필요가 있다고 보았다. 결론: 이에 이 연구에서는 ‘환대’와 ‘윤리적 학습’의 필요성을 제안하였고 (한)국어교육의 장에서 ‘언어에 대한 사유’와 ‘사람과 사람살이에 대한 경험 확충을 위한 문학교육’을 강화해야 한다고 주장하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the direction Korean language education should take from a macro and philosophical perspective by examining how our students exist from the viewpoint of diversity. Method: Focusing on related discourses, policies, and current situations, we investigated how we are objectifying ‘students’ or ‘multicultural students’ both inside and outside the school. Results: From the perspective of diversity, students were existing separated from society, endowed with a functional identity as learners within the school. Multicultural students were categorized under the broad label of ‘multicultural’, facing language development issues due to difficulties in maintaining bilingualism or encountering challenges in learning Korean due to ghettoization. To overcome these situations, it was deemed necessary to innovate the perspective of Korean language education to match the era of diversity, specifically by reforming views on students and education, and accordingly expanding approaches and educational content. Conclusion: This study proposed the necessity of ‘hospitality’ and ‘ethical learning’ and argued for strengthening ‘contemplation of language’ and ‘literature education that can expand experiences of people and life’ within the field of Korean language education.
