말뭉치 기반 한·중 시간 개념화 양상 대조 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 말뭉치 접근법을 활용하여 한·중 시간 표현에 나타난 시간개념화 양상을 인지언어학적 관점에서 대조 분석하는 데 목적을 두고자 한다. 이를 위해 일반 명사 ‘시간/時間’을 포함한 한국어 용례 3000 개와 중국어 용례 3000개를 분석하여 시간 은유표현을 도출하였다. 도출한 한·중 시간 표현을 대상으로 네트워크 시각화 프로그램인 Gephi를 활용하여 네트워크 양상을 살펴보았다. 네트워크 중심부에 있는 빈도 상위 각각 50개의 시간 표현에 나타난 시간 개념화 유형을 범주화하고 유형별 비율을 통계화한 것을 토대로 대조분석을 하였다. 그 결과, 시간의 자원화와 공간화는 양국 언어에서 모두 높은 빈도로 나타났으며 시간의 이동화는 한국어에서는 비중이 가장 큰 반면에 중국어에서는 비중이 가장 낮았다. 마지막으로, 상위 50개의 한·중 시간 표현에 나타난 구체적인 개념화 양상을 대조 분석하였다. 대조분석을 통해서 같은 시간 표현일지라도 그 표현에서 나타나는 시간 개념화 유형 또는 나타내고자 하는 시간 의미가 다를 수 있고, 서로 다른 시간 표현이라고 해서 나타나는 시간 개념화나 나타내고자 하는 시간 의미가 반드시 다른 것 또한 아님을 확인하였다.

This study aimed to utilize the corpus approach to contrast and analyze the conceptualization of time in Korean and Chinese expressions of time from a cognitive linguistic perspective. To this end, a corpus consisting of 3,000 Korean expressions and 3,000 Chinese expressions that included the general noun ‘sigan/xiaoshi’ were analyzed to derive the time metaphor expression. Then, a network of Korean-Chinese time expressions was constructed using Gephi, a network analysis tool. The type of time conceptualization shown in the top 50 time representations at the center of the network was categorized and the ratio by type was statistically depicted. As a result, the frequency of ‘Time Is Resources’ and ‘Time Is Space’ in both languages are relatively high. ‘Time Is a Moving Object’ appears most frequently in Korean, but least frequently in Chinese. Finally, this study contrasted the specific conceptualization aspects that were found in the top 50 Korean-Chinese time expressions. As a result, it was confirmed that the type of conceptualization or the meaning of time that appear in the same expression may be different and that those that appear in the different time expressions are not necessarily different.(Seoul National University)
