국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 스마트폰 사용정도가 영유아의 놀이성과 사회적 능력에미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 연구방법: 연구대상은 경북 P시 소재 유아교육기관에 재원중인 만 1세~5세 영유아와 그들의어머니 각각 263명이다. 자료수집은 2021년 12월10일~2022년 1월29일까지 어머니의스마트폰 사용정도는 어머니 자가진단 척도로 측정하였고, 영유아의 놀이성과 사회적 능력은 담임교사가 측정하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 어머니의 스마트폰 사용정도의 일상생활 장애와 내성은 영유아의 놀이성에 부정적 영향, 특히 일상생활 장애와 내성은 놀이성의 하위요인 신체적, 사회적, 인지적자발성, 즐거움의 표현, 유머감각에 모두 부정적 영향, 가상세계지향성은 놀이성의하위요인 유머감각에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 스마트폰 사용정도 하위요인 중 일상생활 장애, 가상세계지향성과 내성은 영유아의 사회적 능력에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 일상생활 장애와 내성은 영유아의 사회적 능력 주도성, 협조성, 사교성에 모두 부정적 영향, 가상세계지향성은 협조와 사교성, 금단은 협조성에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결론: 본 연구결과 어머니의 스마트폰 사용 정도가 유아의 놀이성과 사회적 능력에 중요한영향을 미친다는 교육적 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of infants and youngchildren’s playfulness and social competence sccording to the frequency ofmothers' smartphone usage. Methods: The subjects of the study were 263 infants and young children’aged 1 to 5 andtheir mothers attending an early childhood education institution located in P-si,Gyeongsangbuk-do. Data were collected from December 10, 2021 to January 29,2022. Mothers' smartphone use was measured using the mother's self-diagnosisscale, and infants' playfulness and social competences were measured by theirhomeroom teachers. Results: First, mothers' usdaily life difficulties and tolerance due to smartphone usage have anegative impact on infants and young children’s' playfulness. In particular, daily lifedifficulties and tolerance have a negative impact on the subfactors of playfulness,such as physical, social, and cognitive spontaneity, expression of enjoyment, andsense of humor. All had negative effects, and virtual world orientation appeared tohave a negative effect on sense of humor, a subfactor of playfulness. Second,among the sub-factors of mothers' smartphone usage, daily life disorders, virtualworld orientation, and tolerance were found to have a negative impact on infants andyoung children’s social competences. Daily life disorders and tolerance were foundto have a negative impact on infants and young children's social competencesinitiative, cooperation, and sociability, virtual world orientation had a negative effecton cooperation and sociability, and withdrawal had a negative effect on cooperation. Conclusion: The results of this study provide educational implications that a mother's level ofsmartphone use has a significant impact on children's playfulness and social competences.
