다큐와 픽션의 조합, 그리고 그 경계

국문 초록

다큐+픽션의 결합은 다큐이냐 픽션이냐 라는 구분을 넘어서는 영역에 도달할수 있다. 다시 말해 다큐와 픽션의 조합은 다큐이거나 픽션 어느 한쪽일 필요 없이 다큐이자 픽션이거나, 다큐도 픽션도 아닐 수 있다. 관련된 연구 가운데 다큐+ 픽션을 형태상/ 의미상 구분하려는 시도가 있었고 그러한 구분에 따라 다큐형태를 가진 픽션, 픽션 형태를 가진 다큐멘터리로 분류하기도 했다. 그러나 다큐+픽션의 조합물을 형태와 내용에 따라 다큐드라마, 드라마 다큐멘터리, 모크 다큐멘터리로 구분해내었다는 점에서 의미가 있을지라도 궁극적으로 의미와 형태로 나뉘지 않는 내용상 사실+허구의 조합물을 구분하는 것이 가능하지 않다. 결국 다큐+픽션은 사실을 포함하고 있다고 해서 다큐가 되지도, 허구를 포함하고 있어서픽션이 되지도 않는 두 지점 사이에 위치하고 있다고 보아야 한다. 다큐드라마와드라마 다큐멘터리는 각각 다큐적 드라마, 드라마적 다큐로 서로 다른 의미로 해석되면서도 통칭하여 사용된다. 용어에 대한 개념적 정의가 정립되어있지 않은상황에서 이들 각각의 장르적 특성에 대해 논하는 대신 이 혼합 장르가 내포하는혼란을 드러내는 방식으로 논의를 전개했다. 결과적으로 다큐적 픽션, 허구적 다큐멘터리라는 프레임 역시 다큐와 픽션을 구분하려는 시도에서 비롯되었다고 볼수 있다.

영문 초록

The form specifies the purpose of the work by becoming codes and convention, as explained how they acquire documentary sincerity is by using forms of documentary. Therefore it can be said that the convention and the form are not separated. It is crucial that the base of transformation of genre is based upon ‘reality’ and it is regardless how the combination formed among docudrama, docu-fiction or mockumentary. So it is same as documentary, the strength of docu- fiction would be stamed from the belief of showing some ‘truth’. Docu-fiction is considered as documentary reality under the fictitious circumstances rather than a documentary borrowing a form of fiction. Therefore docudrama differs from fiction based on reality. docudrama focuses the fact when they representation or reenactment a story and uses narrative technique. During the process docu-drama is dependant on reenactment whereas docu-fiction which is documentary including live filming, uses narrative film technique. When we discuss the nature of truth showed in docu-fiction or docudrama, the key point of the argument would be how it relates the reality whether it is docu drama, docu-fiction or mockumentary. The relations is directly connected to how audience recognise it. If this is true, then how would you differentiate fiction(mockumentary) which using the code and convention of documentary from drama which borrows the form of representation or from documentary using form of fiction? Is it even possible that we can classify or define whether fiction borrowed documentary format as a docudrama or documentary borrowed form of fiction as a docu-fiction? or is it right to understand docu-fiction as a comprehensive term so it can cover from mockumentary to docudrama?
