국문 초록

특수교육의 목적은 교육을 통해 장애아동이 얼마나 자율적이고 독립적인 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 도와 주느냐 하는 것이다. 이 연구는 우리나라의 장애아동 조기 전환교육에 관한 다양한 의사결정 과정에 이론적으로 기여하기 위한 목적으로 수행하였다. 학교교육의 선결조건은 무엇인가? 예를 들어 ‘학교준비도’라는 것이 있는데, 이것은 읽기, 쓰기, 수학 계산 등과 같이 학업 발달과 관련이 있는 지식에 대해 얼마나 준비되어 있는지를 설명해 주거나, 혹은 아동의 연령과 비교하여 신체적, 정신적, 사회적, 정서적 발달에 있어 사전준비가 어느 정도 되어 있느냐를 말하는 것이다. 이 연구는 지금까지 비교적 관심이 적었던 장애유아를 위한 ‘가정에서 학교’로의 이행에 대한 중요성과 그 내용에 관한 선행연구 결과를 중심으로 탐색하였다. 특수아동이 가정에서 학교로 전환하기 전에 학교교육 준비가 잘 되어야 하는 것은 장애아동의 학교준비가 일반아동의 학교교육 준비보다 더 중요하기 때문이다. 국내외에서 수행된 많은 연구에서 대체로 효과적인 조기 전환교육이 훗날의 학교교육 성공을 보장해 준다는 결론을 제시하고 있고, 이는 장애아동 교육에서도 마찬가지이다. 이와 같은 연구결과에 터하여 연구자는 우리나라 특수아동의 학교준비와 조기 전환교육의 중요성을 강조하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The ultimate goal of special education is how to help the children with disabilities make their lives independent and autonomous through education. By teaching knowledge and techniques that they need, we can help them, in economic aspects, to live their own lives independent. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the policies in decision making on early transition for the children with disabilities. What are the prerequisites of school education? To explain these, you may refer the term ‘school readiness.’ School readiness can be explained in two different ways. In a certain case, it may refer that how much knowledge are prepared that are related with children's academic development like reading, writing, mathematical calculation. Another case explains that how much are ready in the aspects of physical, psychological, social, and emotional development in comparison with the children's mental ages. Now you may feel that the significance of ‘home to school transition’ need to be reviewed thoroughly. The transition practices for the children with disabilities from home to school are a lot more important than those of the children without disabilities. You can find many useful study results that support the importances of transition for the children with disabilities. In many research papers nationally and internationally, effective transition in early years guarantees the success of school education in later years.
