초등 특수학교 및 특수학급 교사의 수학과 운영 실태 및 개선방안 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 특수학교와 특수학급의 수학교과 지도에 대한 교사들의 경험을 토대로 수학 수업 실태와 수학 교육에 대한 개선방안을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구에는 특수학교 교사 7명, 특수학급 교사 7명으로, 총 14명의 교사가 면담에 참여하였다. 면담은 특수교육 교육과정 수학과의 틀을 가지고 실제 수업 운영 실태를 알아보기 위한 질문으로 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 교육과정과 해설서의 활용 정도는 특수교사에 따라서 그 활용 정도가 상이하였으며, 교과서와 지도서는 주로 참고자료로만 활용하는 경우가 많았다. 둘째, 학생들의 수학 학업능력에 대한 다양성으로 교과 목표를 선정하는데 어려움이 존재하였으며, 특수학교와 특수학급의 경우 중점적으로 지도하는 하위영역에는 차이가 있었다. 교수학습 자료로는 주로 구체물을 이용하거나 인터넷 자료를 많이 활용하였으며, 평가는 관찰을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 수학교과 지도에 대한 개선방안으로, 특수학교와 특수학급의 특성을 고려한 직전교육과 현직교육을 강조하였으며, 이 외에도 학생 수준에 적합한 교과교육 내용의 선정, 중도장애 학생을 위한 교과교육 내용의 선정, 교과서 활용을 위한 웹사이트의 지원 및 보다 활용성 높은 수학 교과서의 구성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The study investigated the practice of and the perception on teaching math of special education teachers in special schools and special classes. The study included 7 special school teachers and 7 special class teachers, so total 14 special education teachers participated on the interviews. The question items for the interviews were consisted of the items based on math subject of special education curriculum to investigate the practice of teaching math. As the results of the study, first, the application level of the curriculum and the curriculum-manual were diverse, and the textbook and the textbook-manual were usually used as a reference. Second, the teachers had difficulties to deciding math objective due to the diverse academic level on math, and the focusing area was different between special schools and special classes. The teachers usually used concrete objects or internet resources for their classes, and the evaluation was implemented by the observation. Finally, the ways of improving math instruction, the teachers emphasized the workshops for the preserivce and inservice teachers by considering the characteristics of special schools and special classes. As well, the teachers insisted of using appropriate math content based on the students' level, providing web-site support to promote the use of the textbook, and re-organizing the textbook to enhance the practical use of the textbook.
