장애인 수용 태도에 영향을 미치는 봉사활동 관련 요인 탐색

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 중학생들의 봉사활동 경험이 장애인 수용 태도에 미치는 영향을 탐색하기 위해 실시한 연구이다. 연구방법: 이 연구는 제주시 지역을 중심으로 통합교육을 하는 중학교 학생 456명을 대상으로 설문자료를 수집하여, 봉사 태도, 장애인 수용 태도, 통합교육 태도에 영향을 미치는 중학생의 봉사활동 관련 요인을 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 봉사 및 통합교육 태도는 봉사활동 경험이 있는 집단이 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 유의미하게 높았다. 그러나 장애인 수용 태도는 두 집단 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 봉사활동 사전교육 횟수에 따른 집단 간 차이를 분석한 결과 사전교육이 있는 집단과 없는 집단 간에는 유의미한 차이를 보였지만 횟수가 많아진다고 더 긍정적으로 나타나지는 않았다. 둘째, 회귀분석 결과, 본 연구에서 투입한 봉사활동 관련 변인이 장애인 수용 태도의 약 56%를 설명할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 네 가지 요인 중 사전교육 횟수가 상대적으로 가장 영향력이 높은 변인으로 나타났으며, 봉사 태도, 접촉 유형, 봉사 시간 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 봉사활동의 사전교육 횟수, 봉사 시간, 봉사 태도, 통합교육 태도, 장애인 수용 태도 간의 경로를 분석한 결과, 봉사활동 사전교육 횟수가 통합교육 태도에 미치는 직접 효과를 제외한 모든 경로가 정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 연구의 주요 결과를 바탕으로 봉사활동과 장애인 수용 태도에 관하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of middle school students' volunteer experiences on their acceptance attitude toward disabilities. Method: The factors influencing the students’ attitudes toward volunteer activities, acceptance attitude toward disabilities, and inclusive education were analyzed through survey data from 456 students from middle schools taking inclusive education in Jeju city. Results: First, the attitudes to volunteering and inclusive education were significantly higher in the students with volunteer experience than in those without the experience. There was no statistically significant difference between two groups in the acceptance attitude of disabilities. Although, there was a significant difference in the accepting attitude between groups with and without pre-training for volunteering, the number of training was not in proportion to the positiveness of the attitude. Second, it was revealed that 56% of the attitude to the acceptance of the disabilities was explained by volunteer experiences for people with disabilities. Among the four factors, the number of times of prior education was the most influential, followed by volunteering attitude, contact type, and volunteering time. Third, according to the path analysis among the four variables, all paths except the frequency of pre-training had positive effects on the attitude of inclusive education. Conclusion: Based on the main results of the study, implications for better volunteer activities and acceptance attitude toward disabilities were discussed.
