시각장애학교의 중복장애학생 교육 개선을 위한 교사의 경험적 요구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 시각장애학교의 중복장애학생 교육과정과 교육환경의 효율적인 개선방안을 알아보기 위해, 시각중복장애 교육 경험이 있는 교사 8명의 의견을 토대로 개선방안을 정리하였다. 연구방법: 자료수집은 반구조화된 면담지를 사용하였으며, 반복적 비교분석법을 통해 내용의 범주화 결과를 도출하였다. 이에, 그 내용을 분석한 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 연구결과: 첫째, 국가 수준 교육과정개발 또는 각 지원센터의 연계를 통한 교육과정 개발 및 지침 제공에 대한 의견을 제시하였으며, 시각중복장애학생을 위한 교육목표, 교육 방법 및 진단·평가의 개선과 이에 대한 교사의 자율성 부여가 필요하다고 하였다. 둘째, 학습활동 외의 학교생활이나 일상생활지도 부분에서도 보조인력 증원에 대한 필요성을 강조하였으며, 이 외에도 전문인력 양성과 전문성 향상을 위해, 실질적인 연수 혹은 전문인력 간의 네트워크를 형성하기를 원하였다. 셋째, 시각중복장애학생에 대한 평생교육, 교사의 재량권 확대, 학급증설 등에 대한 행정적 지원요구의 확대가 필요하다고 하였다. 결론: 본 연구의 결과를 중심으로 향후 시각장애학교의 중복장애학생의 효율적인 교육환경의 개선과 확충의 필요성 등을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study investigated the needs of betterment in curriculum and educational environment for students with multiple disabilities including visual impairments in schools for the blind. Method: The study conducted semi-structured interviews with eight teachers currently working in schools for the blind. The qualitative data were transcribed verbatim, then categorized into several themes by constant comparison methods. The findings of the research were as follows. Results: First, the participants expressed the needs of national-level curriculum standards through collaboration with regional support centers, guidelines for learning goals, improvements of diagnosis and assessment, and teachers' autonomy. Second, the participants needed more assistants to support the students' learning activities and independent living. As well, more opportunities for in-service trainings for developing teaching expertise and building a professional network with experts were demanding. Third, the participants requested for more supports in lifelong education, a higher degree of autonomy, additional classes for students with multiple disabilities including visual impairments. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, the study proposed implications for the betterment of the educational environment for students with multiple disabilities including visual impairment in schools for the blind.
