전공과 교육에 대한 지적장애 재학생의 인식 유형

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 전공과에 재학 중인 지적장애학생들의 전공과 교육에 대한 인식과 인식 유형별 특성을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 전공과 정체성의 재확립을 도모하여 궁극적으로 특수교육대상학생의 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고자 하는 데 있다. 연구방법: 전공과의 교육목적, 교육내용, 학교운영, 기대효과의 4가지 교육요소에 대하여 심층면접을 통하여 수집한 총 248개의 Q-모집단에서 23개의 Q-표본을 선정하였다. 이후 경기도 안산지역 A 특수학교 전공과에 재학 중인 23명의 지적장애학생을 대상으로 Q-분류를 진행하였고, PQ Method프로그램을 이용하여 17명을 3개의 인식 유형으로 도출하였다. 연구결과: 전공과에 재학 중인 지적장애학생들의 전공과에 대한 인식유형은 ‘취업을 위한 직업훈련기관’, ‘학령기 연장을 위한 교육기관’, ‘대인관계 등을 위한 교육기관’의 3종류로 나타났다. ‘취업을 위한 직업훈련기관’은 전공과의 목적을 취업으로 분명하게 인식하고 있었으며, 직업 기술을 배우는 등 적극적으로 노력하고자 하며, ‘학령기 연장을 위한 교육기관’은 미래나 다른 사람이나 주변 환경보다는 지금 현재, 자기 자신에 대한 관심이 높은 것으로 나타났다. ‘대인관계 등을 위한 교육기관’은 다른 사람과 관계를 중요시 여기며 직업 기술 등을 배우는 데 관심이 적은 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 이상의 결과를 선행연구와 비교하고 전공과 정체성 재확립을 위한 방안을 논의에서 다루었다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to classify the students’ perception towards post-high school specialized program and to identify characteristics by type. Method: This study used a Q methodology in which individual subjects’ classification of statements were interpreted and the overall perception of the individual subjects could be derived through more objective methods. To investigate the perception types of the students towards post-high school specialized program, 23 Q samples were selected from a total of 248 Q populations through in-depth interviews. The study performed Q classification for 23 students in a special school for intellectual disabilities, and interviewed about the reason why they had chosen the bipolar statements. As the data processing and analysis method, the recognition type was derived using the PQ methods program. Results: Three types of perception about the post-high school specialized program were analyzed. The first type was a ‘job training institution for employment’, in which the purpose of post-high school specialized program was recognized for employment and the students endeavor to get job skills positively. The second type was an ‘educational institution for extension of school-age’, in which their interests were not other people or circumstances but here and now, themselves. The third type was an ‘educational institution for personal relationship and so on’, in which personal relationship was the one of most important values, they seem quite passive in learning job skills. Conclusion: The findings of the study were expected to reflect students’ opinion to re-identify the post-high school specialized program by classification types of perception about the post-high school specialized program and their characteristics.
