국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 일반교육과 특수교육의 자유학기 연구 동향을 분석하여 향후 자유학기 및 학년제가 특수교육 대상 학생들에게 의미 있게 적용될 수 있도록 하기 위함이다. 연구방법: 학술지의 제목, 초록, 키워드에 ‘자유학기(제)’, ‘자유학년(제)’를 포함하고 있는 일반교육 210편, 특수교육 17편을 선정하였다. 선정된 논문은 분석틀을 활용하여 기초 및 주제 분석하고, 특수교육 논문 17편은 주요 제안사항을 분석하였다. 연구결과: 기초 분석 결과, 논문의 기본 정보, 연구 대상, 장애 유형, 연구 방법으로 분류되었다. 주제 분석 결과, 기반연구, 교육과정 편성·운영, 자유학기활동 편성·운영, 자유학기제 효과, 기타로 나타났다. 주요 제안사항은 ‘특수교육의 정체성을 반영한 자유학기제 운영’, ‘교육청 차원의 지원’, ‘지역사회와의 연계’를 중심으로 나타났다. 결론: 연구 결과를 토대로 다양한 참여자, 방법, 주제를 다룬 연구의 필요성에 대해 논의하였고, 특수교육 환경에 적합한 자유학기제 운영을 위해 필요한 향후 연구의 방향에 대해 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide practical implications for students with special needs by analyzing the research trends on the ‘free semester system’ of general education and special education. Method: The research team selected 210 general education studies and 17 special education studies including the ‘free semester (system)’, and ‘free school year (system)’ in the title, abstract, and keywords. Based on the analytic framework, the selected papers were analyzed in terms of fundamental analysis and topic analysis. The 17 studies in the field of special education were analyzed in terms of suggestions. Results: The fundamental analysis was organized into basic information, research participants, type of disability, and research method. The topic analysis was divided into base study, curriculum organization·implementation, free semester activity organization·implementation, effect of the free semester system, and others. Suggestions were ‘operating the free semester system reflecting the characteristics of special education’, ‘support from the district school board’, and ‘community connection.’ Conclusion: Based on the research results, it was concluded that ‘the free semester system’ research in the field of special education should deal with various participants, methods, and topics. In addition, the direction of future research necessary for the operation of ‘the free semester system’ suitable for the special educational environment was suggested.
