성인기 삶의 질과 평생교육에 대한 발달장애인 당사자의 인식 연구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 성인기 삶의 질과 평생교육에 대한 발달장애인 당사자의 인식을 살펴보는 데 있다. 연구방법: 연구를 위하여 발달장애 성인 당사자들 중 근로 작업장 종사자 5명, 발달장애인 평생교육센터 재학생 4명, 장애인 공동생활 시설 생활자 4명의 세 그룹 발달장애인들을 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 질적인 성인기 삶을 살아가는데 필요한 것에 대해 물어본 결과 대부분이 경제활동에 참여하기를 원하였고 그에 따른 다양한 혜택을 희망하고 있었다. 또한 주말에는 다양한 여가활동에 참여하기를 희망하였고, 이성교제와 결혼에 대해서도 긍정적인 생각을 하고 있었다. 전공과 혹은 대학과 같은 고등교육 참여 경험이 있는 당사자들은 고등교육 참여 경험이 살아가는데 조금은 도움이 된 것으로 인식하였고, 고등교육 참여 경험이 없는 당사자들은 평생교육에 참여해서 다양한 기술들을 배우고 싶어 하였다. 참여하고 싶은 평생교육 프로그램과 평생교육을 통해 함양하고 싶은 기술들은 대부분 현재의 삶을 살아가는데 필요한 다양한 기술들이었고, 직업기술을 배워서 취업을 하고 싶어 하였다. 즉, 평생교육을 통해서 자신이 현재 부족하다고 느끼는 기술들을 배울 수 있는 통로가 되기를 희망하고 있었다. 결론: 연구 결과에 기반하여 논의 및 제한점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of people with developmental disabilities on quality adult life and lifelong education. Method: For this study, interviews were conducted with three groups of adults with developmental disabilities such as 5 workers at a sheltered workshop, 4 students at a lifelong education center for people with developmental disabilities, and 4 residents of a group home for people with disabilities. Results: As a result of the interviews about the necessities for living a quality adult life, most of them wanted to participate in economic activities and hoped for various benefits. In addition, they hoped to participate in various leisure activities on weekends, and had positive thoughts about dating and marriage. As a result of asking about participation in post-secondary education, those who had experience in post-secondary education perceived it as a little helpful, and those who did not have experience in post-secondary education wanted to learn various skills by participating in lifelong education. Most of the lifelong education programs they wanted to participate in and the skills they wanted to develop through lifelong education were various skills needed to live their current lives effectively, and they wanted to learn vocational skills and get a job. In other words, they hoped that lifelong education would become a channel through which they could learn the skills they felt they were currently lacking. Conclusion: Based on the results, discussions and limitations were presented.
