소년범의 인생 목적과 비행(delinquency)의 관계에서 목표불안정성과 자기조절의 이중매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 인생 목적과 비행(delinquency)의 관계에서 목표불안정성과 자기조절의 매개효과를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 B시 소재 경찰서에 소년범으로 입건된 남·여 청소년 93명을 대상으로, 인생 목적, 외현화 문제, 음주문제, 목표불안정성, 자기조절에 관한 설문을 실시하였고 무성의하게 응답한 8부를 제외한 85부의 설문지를 사용하였다. SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 Pearson 상관분석을 실시하였고 Hayes(2018)가 제안한 PROCESS macro for SPSS의 Model 6 모형을 활용하여 경로를 분석하고 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 인생 목적이 외현화 문제에 목표불안정성과 자기조절을 순차적으로 매개하여 외현화 문제에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 인생 목적의 부재가 목표불안정성을 높이고 자기조절력을 감소시켜 외현화 문제를 증가시킬 수 있음을 의미한다. 다음으로 인생 목적이 음주문제에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤으나 목표불안정성과 자기조절력을 순차적으로 매개하지 않고 목표불안정성의 간접 효과만 통계적으로 유의하였다. 본 연구는 기존 연구들에서 청소년 비행문제와 관련하여 인생 목적, 인생목표, 자기조절 변인을 독립적으로 다루어 왔으나 직접적인 경로탐색이 제한적이었던 점을 고려하여 인생 목적과 비행 문제에 있어 인생목표와 자기조절의 역할을 직접적으로 탐색했다는 점에 의의가 있다. 나아가 본 연구 결과를 토대로, 청소년의 외현화 문제와 음주문제에 인생 목적과 목표불안정성이 공통적으로 영향을 주고 있음을 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 공존하는 비행 문제를 감소시키기 위해 인생 목적을 명료화하고 목표의 내용이나 개수와는 무관하게 어떤 목표이든 안정적으로 동기 부여될 수 있는 목표를 수립하고 이를 중심으로 개인의 자기조절력을 향상시키는 것이 중요함을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of goal instability and self-regulation in the relationship between life purpose and delinquency. To this end, 93 male and female teenagers investigated as juvenile offenders at the B-city police station were questioned on life purpose, externalization, drinking problem, goal instability, and self-regulation, and 85 questionnaires were used, excluding 8 that responded insincerely. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted using the SPSS 22.0 program, and the mediating effect was confirmed by analyzing the path using the Model 6 of PROCESS macro for SPSS proposed by Hayes (2018). The main results of the study are as follows. It was found that the purpose of life indirectly influences the problem of externalization by sequentially mediating goal instability and self-regulation on the problem of externalization. This means that the absence of a life purpose can increase the problem of externalization by increasing goal instability and reducing self-regulation. Next, although the purpose of life directly affected the drinking problem, only the indirect effect of goal instability was statistically significant without sequentially mediating goal instability and self-regulation. This study is meaningful in that it directly explored the role of life goals and self-regulation in life purpose and delinquency, considering that the previous studies have independently dealt with life purpose, life goals, and self-regulation variables in relation to youth delinquency. Furthermore, based on the results of this study, it is significant in that it was confirmed that life purpose and goal instability have a common influence on adolescents' externalization and drinking problems. Based on these results, it is suggested that it is important to clarify the purpose of life and establish goals that can be stably motivated regardless of the content or number of goals, thereby improving individual self-regulation.
