국문 초록

신케인지언 필립스곡선의 이론적 모형은 그 실증분석에서 여러가지 문제점들이 제시되어 왔으며 다음의 두가지 문제점은 아직도 논의의 대상이 되고 있다. 첫째, 대부분의 실증연구는 한계비용의 대리변수로서 노동분배율을 시용하였다. 그러나 한계비용은 사실상 노동, 자본, 중간재 비용에 따라 결정되기 때문에 대리변수로서 노동분배율의 사용은 한계점을 가지고 있다. 둘째, 신케인지언 필립스곡선모형은 시장지배력을 가진 기업의 가격설정행위에 근거하고 있다. 따라서 서비스산업에서 규제산업을 포함하고 있는 경제전체의 한계비용이나 노동분배율을 실증분석에 적용하는 경우 편의가 발생한다. 따라서 마크업이 1보다 크게 나타나는 제조업의 한계비용을 추정하여 실증분석에 적용하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 노동, 자본, 국내, 해외중간재를 포함하는 생산함수를 설정하고 기술계수가 AR(1)과정을 따른다는 가정하에 제조산업의 한계비용을 추정하였다. 또한 신케인지언 필립스곡선의 새로운 실증적 증거를 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

The theoretical modelling in inflation dynamics has been established with common ground while empirical studies still have been rather limited and remain at issue in several points. There remain still two problems in empirics for the new Keynesian Phillips curve. First, most of studies have used a labor share as the proxy of marginal costs, but marginal costs actually depends on several factors such as labor, capital and material costs. Secondly, the NKPC model is based on the firms' optimization pricing with market power. Therefore marginal cost from overall economy has a bias in applying to empirical research. Thus marginal costs are required to be estimated with manufacturing industry which shows average markup ratios to be more than one. We derive real marginal costs from firm's cost minimization by setting up a constant returns to scale production function incorporating domestic and foreign intermediate goods with technology being assumed to be AR(1) process. This paper measures actually real marginal cost in manufacturing industries and provide new evidences of the new Keynesian Phillips curve for Korea.
