지체장애 특수학교 학생의 보조공학기기 사용 실태와 교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 지체장애 특수학교 학생들의 보조공학기기 사용 실태와 교사들의 인식 조사를 통하여 보조공학기기의 중요성을 일깨우고 보조공학 서비스 지원체계와 올바른 보조공학 사용방법 안내를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 전국의 지체장애 특수학교 교사 464명을 대상으로 연구하였으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지체장애 학생의 65%가 보조공학기기를 필요로 하고 있으나 실제 사용하는 경우는 필요 학생의 51.87%이며 보조공학 기기를 필요로 하는 학생들의 장애 정도는 심한 편이었다. 교사의 관련 교육 경험은 수도권의 경우 직무연수가 많았다. 학생들은 대부분 학교에서 보조공학기기를 사용하였으며, 이동 보조기구나 착석 및 자세 보조기구를 주로 사용하였다. 둘째, 교사의 보조공학기기 추수지도 경험은 거의 없으며, 경험이 있는 경우도 보조공학기기 판매기관 및 대여기관에서 재활(보조)공학사나 물리치료사에게 받은 것으로 나타났다. 보조공학기기 관련 교육 경험의 활용도는 수도권의 경우 높았으며, 보조공학기기의 선택기준은 무엇보다 학생의 장애정도를 고려하여 선택해야 하며, 특히 광역시 교사들은 보조공학기기가 지체장애 학생들의 직업선택 기회를 얻고, 의사소통 능력을 향상시키기 위해서 중요하다고 인식하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate Assistive Technology(AT) devices utilization status of students with student with physical disabilities and recognition of teachers in special schools for students with physical disabilities. The subjects of this study were 464 teachers in special schools for students with physical disabilities in capital areas, metropolitan cities and small and medium-sized cities. The results were as follows. First, the 65% of students with physical disabilities needed AT devices, but the only 51.87% of whom were using them. Most of students with spastic quadriplegia needed AT devices. The students usually used the AT devices at schools, for movement, seating and positioning. Second, teachers had few experiences about follow-up service for AT devices and those experiences were from AT device store and lending library. There was few differences in the satisfaction with the follow-up service for the AT devices according to district, and the degree of satisfaction was low. Criteria of selecting AT devices were considering the disability severity of students. Teachers in metropolitan cities thought the devices were important for the students with physical disabilities to get the job or to improve their communicative ability.
