한국 고전문학의 세계화 방안- 고전문학의 번역과 그 방법을 중심으로

국문 초록

본고는 한국고전문학세계화방안을구안함에있어서그 문제점은 무엇인지 살펴보고 구체적 실천방안을제시하였다. 한국 고전문학 세계화를 위해서는 기존 고전문학 연구 방법이나 태도를 새로운 사회 환경에 맞게바꾸어야 하며, 이를 통해 연구 역량을 지속적으로 축적하는 것이 세계화의 정도(正道)라 할 수 있다. 또한 한국 고전문학이 민족주의적 관점이나 실증주의적 관점에서 주로 연구되었다면, 향후에는 여타 학문 분야와의연계를 통해서 인류 보편의 가치를 지향하는 연구 토대를 구축해야 할 필요가 있다. 더불어 고전문학 세계화방안이구체적인실천 방안이 아니라면 실효적의미를가질 수없음을인식해야한다. 전략적차원에서의 추상적 담론이나 거시적 체계를 위주로 한 방안은 자칫 공허한 구호의 반복에 머물 수 있다. 현재 상황에서 구체적이고 실천 가능하며 의미가 있는 고전문학 세계화 방안은 고전문학의 문학적 자산과 가치를 세계인에게 알리는 것이다. 이것은 한국 고전문학 작품과 연구 성과를 적절하고도 정확하게 번역할 필요가 있음을 의미한다.번역에 앞서 다음과 같은 사항에 유의할 필요가 있다. 먼저 기 번역된 한국 고전문학 작품 목록과 번역텍스트를 수집・정리하여, 중복 번역을 피하고 기존 번역의 성과를 활용할 토대를 마련해야 한다. 그리고 새롭게 번역할 고전문학 작품을 선정하되 인류 보편의 지향 가치를 지닌 텍스트를 문헌 비평의 과정을 거쳐 확정해야 한다. 고전문학 작품의 경우, 번역 텍스트를 무엇으로 정할 것인가에 따라 작품 해석의 차이는 물론 오류의 가능성도 줄일 수 있다. 나아가 확정한 텍스트를 번역하고, 번역한 작품들을 모아 전집(全集)으로 출간해야 한다. 실제 고전문학 작품을 번역하기 위해서는 무엇보다 번역 전문가 양성을 위한 인프라 구축과 번역을 위한 네트워크를 구축해야 한다. 고전문학 작품의 번역은 해당분야 연구 전문가와 해외 번역가의 협업체계가 긴요하다. 이들은 해당 분야 전문연구자와 초벌 번역자, 감수자 등으로 이루어져야 하며, 번역 작품의강독 및 이해, 실제적 번역 및 교열, 감수를 진행하는 단계로 나누어 진행되어야 한다. 그리고 번역 과정에서확보하게 되는 색인어와 용례를 데이터화하여 축적해야 한다.

영문 초록

This thesis aims to consider problems which related with ways for theworld of Korean old literature, and to propose the practical methods for theglobalization. The specific and practical ways of globalization are closelyconnected with translations of Korean old literary works. The globalizationstrategies of Korean old literature were repeated studied for a coupledecades, and so now we have to attend the practical and specific ways forthe world of Korean old literature. And it is correct and proper translationsof Korean old literary works.The research method on Korean old literature should be changedaccording to the current of times for the globalization of Korean oldliterature. For examples, the nationalism and positivism toward the Koreanold literature have to be given up, and we have to try searching the generalvalue of human being in Korean old literary works. And then we should tryto spread the research of these results as the common properties of allmankind. Translations of Korean old literary works are practical andspecific ways for the world of Korean old literature.For the correct and proper translations into the international language,we have to keep in mind following facts. First, we have to collect Koreanliterary works translated into English for avoiding repeated translations of the same works, and make the lists for translating, especially selectvaluable works for all mankinds. Second, researchers on Korean oldliterature have to fix the proper and correct texts for translations. Andfinally, have to make collections of old Korean literary works translated intoEnglish. Those could be standard texts for study on Korean old literatureand could make the best use of those as adaptation works.For proper and correct translation, we have to make the professionaltranslation teams composed of several persons who are researcher onKorean old literature, bilingual translator, and editorial supervisor etc. Forcomposing this team, we have to construct the network for translating.And the first step of translation is correct and perfect understanding thework, so the researcher explain the details of works to the translator. Thsecond step is the translation. For this period, the translator have to makethe glossary on Korean old literature for Korean studies.
