국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생이 지각한 부모공감과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증해보는 것이다. 최종 분석에 포함된 연구 대상은 부산광역시 소재 일반계와 전문계 남ㆍ여 고등학교 학생 413명 이었고 이들을 대상으로 부모 공감, 학교생활적응, 자아존중감 수준을 측정하였다. 모든 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 수집된 자료들을 바탕으로 주요 변인들 간의 관련성을 살펴보기 위해 상관관계 분석을 실시하고 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 그 결과, 부모공감은 자아존중감과 학교적응과 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모공감 중, 부공감과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 자아존중감은 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 부모공감 중, 모공감과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 자아존중감은 완전매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 후속연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteem on the association between parents' empathy perceived by adolescents, and their school adjustment. For this study, questionnaires measuring parents' empathy, school adjustment and self-esteem were completed by 413 students who were given to female and male students in both a general and a vocational high school located in Busan. The process of the data was estimated by SPSS 18.0. To verify the effects, correlation analysis was applied to find out the correlation among these variables. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was also used to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem on the association between parents' empathy and self-esteem. The findings of this study were as follows: Firstly, there were significant correlations between a father's and a mother's empathy, school adjustment, and self-esteem. Secondly, the relationship between a father's empathy and school adjustment was partially mediated by self-esteem. Lastly, the relationship between a mother's empathy and school adjustment was completely by mediated by self-esteem. The limitations and the current study and the suggestions for future research were offered.
