수도권 S대 학생들의 교수ㆍ학습과정에의 참여 정도 분석에 기초한 교수ㆍ학습지원방안 고찰

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학 교육의 질 개선을 도모하기 위한 기초 연구로서, 대학생들의 교수ㆍ학습과정에의 참여 정도를 분석하고 이를 토대로 교수ㆍ학습지원의 방향을 모색하는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 구체적으로 수업, 수업외 활동, 교수ㆍ학습과정에서의 상호작용, 학습성과, 교수ㆍ학습지원체제의 다섯 가지 영역에서의 학생들의 참여를 분석하였으며, 대학 전체적인 현황 및 대학내 집단간 비교, 학습성과 영향요인 등을 분석하였다. 설문 조사 결과에 의하면, 학습성과는 학년과 자기주도적 학습과 관련된 요인이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 교내 구성원, 특히 교수와의 상호작용이 매우 낮았으며, 학습성과, 수업 내 자기주도적 활동도 낮았고, 교수ㆍ학습지원체제에 대한 만족도 역시 낮았다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 교수, 또래친구, 선배, 다문화 학생들과의 상호작용을 활성화시킬 것과 수업에서의 창의력과 사고력 개발 활동 확대, 글쓰기 지원, 자기주도적 학습 등을 지원할 것을 제언하였으며, 신입생, 남학생 등과 같은 대학내 다양한 집단의 특성과 계열별 특성에 적합한 지원이 필요함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of student engagement in the teaching and learning process, and to suggest the direction of teaching and learning support as the first step for the advancement of teaching and learning qualities. This study analyzed 5 categories: involvement in and out of instruction, faculty-Student interaction, teaching-learning outcomes, and the system of student support. The Research method was accomplished through the use of a questionnaire and the National Assessment of Student Engagement developed by KEDI in 2012. As well, the T-test, anova, and hierarchical linear model were used. The major findings were as follows: The major-level of satisfaction in teaching-learning and optional-level of satisfaction in teaching-learning were good, however, the degree of self-directed learning activities and student-faculty interactions were low. In addition, the writing attitude and learning outcomes were not satisfactory. Student-faculty interaction, high-order thinking activities and active involvement had a positive influence on learning outcomes. Therefore, this study suggests the need to enhance active involvement in instruction, high-order thinking activities, writing skills, and interaction with faculty for the improvement inthequality of higher education. Also, discrepancies in various groups and college majors should be taken into account when improving the teaching and learning quality.
