국문 초록

조선조 18세기는 문예사조와 예술창작상에 있어서 한국문화의 내용과 조류를 구체적으로 전환시키는 일대변화의 시기다. 이 시기 ‘서예의 한국성’을 논한다면 ‘東國眞體’의 출현을 거론할 수 있겠다. 玉洞 李漵(1662～1723)로부터 圓嶠 李匡師(1705～1777)에 이르러 결실을 맺었다고 전해지는 東國眞體는 王羲之에 대한 학습과 반성활동을 통해 시대정신에 맞는 진정한 조선인의 서예를 구현하려 했다는 점에서 주목된다. 이러한 동국진체를 18세기 한국서예사에서 거점으로 삼는 이유는, 당시 중국서예의 영향 下에서도 그들의 書論을 통해 ‘조선의 독자적인 모습을 투영시켰다’거나 ‘조선인의 진정한 서예정신을 담아냈다’는 등에서 ‘한국성’이라는 가치를 부여하고, 18세기 한국서예의 정체성을 찾으려는 데 있다고 간주하기 때문이다. 동국진체를 18세기 한국서예의 정체성 내지는 독자성으로 인정한다면, 그것이 담아낸 형식이나 내용이 중국 문화의 어떠한 영향을 다소간 받았다 하더라도, 우리의 것으로 십분 소화되고 체득되어 주체적으로 발현되어졌다는 의미로 보아야 할 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 동국진체가 ‘진정한 우리의 글씨’로 성립될 수 있는 당위성을 ‘自得’이라는 측면에서 찾아볼 필요가 있겠다. 따라서 본고는 옥동 이서와 원교 이광사의 書論으로 범위를 좁혀, 그들이 성취한 書論의 自得미학을 살펴보고, 그들의 自得미학이 18세기 동국진체의 형성에 어떠한 의의를 부여할 수 있는가를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다.

영문 초록

18th century was the time for remarkable conversion of substance and the trend of Korean culture in fields of the trend of literature and creation of the arts. Dong-Kuk-Jin-Che (The True calligraphic style of the Nation of the East) can be taken up for discussion on the calligraphic style of Korea at that period. It is reported that Dong-Kuk-Jin-Che had been completed those times from Okdong Yi Seo(1662 1723) to Wongyo Yi Kwang-sa(1705 1777). This ～ ～ calligraphic type is commented as a Korean identity today according to give concrete expression to real Korean calligraphy appropriate to the spirit of the times through the study and the reflection on Wang Xi-zhi. The basis it can be authorized to be the identity or originality of Korean calligraphy is that the form and the substance it included were manifested by abundant mastery and acquirement as our own calligraphic style regardless of the influence of China. From this point of view, the good reason why DongKukJinChe is realized as our own true calligraphy can be dealt in the side of self-acquirement. Therefore this thesis was written to identify the significance of DongKukJinChe in 18th century through the self-acquired aesthetics of its leaders, Okdong and Wonkyo.
