지적장애 무용단원의 생활세계를 통해 바라본 무용활동의 교육적 의미

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 지적장애 무용단원의 생활세계를 살펴보고 무용 활동에 대한 경험과 의미를 탐구하는 데 있다. 연구 참여자는 무용단원 5명, 지도자 1명, 특수교사 2명이다. 자료수집 기간은 2021년 9월부터 12월까지 4개월이다. 연구 방법은 현상학 질적연구 중에서도 인간경험의 본질을 탐구하는 van Manen의 체험연구 방법에 근거하여 수행하였다. 이 연구에서 수집된 자료는 단원과 지도자와의 면담 전사본, 무용연습 참여관찰, 연구일지와 연구노트, 연구자가 학급밴드에 남겨둔 글, 학생과 학부모 댓글, 사진과 영상, 공연 프로그램 소개지, 참여자의 출판물 등이다. 수집한 질적자료를 바탕으로 van Manen의 네 가지 실존체인 시간성, 공간성, 관계성, 신체성에 따라 참여자의 면담 내용을 의미 있는 일화로 재구성하고 분석한 결과 10개의 주제를 찾을 수 있었다. 그 결과 이 연구를 통해 지적장애인 무용단 단원의 삶에서 무용단 생활과 공연 활동은 사회와 연결되는 유일한 연결고리이며 전문 무용수로서 도약하기 위한 과정의 연속임을 알 수 있었다. 이들은 앞으로 공연의 무대를 국내에서 해외로 옮겨 대중 앞에서 몸짓을 표현해 보고 싶어 하였다. 또한, 다음 세대를 지도하는 강사로 살아가길 기대하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 종합해 볼 때 지적장애 무용단 단원들에게 무용은 자기 삶의 방향을 설정하는 내비게이션과 같은 역할을 하고 있었다. 아울러 이들에게 장애가 있지만, 춤을 통해 도전 의식과 가능성을 널리 알리고자 하는 ‘명세이무(鳴世以舞): 춤으로써 세상을 울리자!’라는 의미를 찾을 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 특수교육에서 지적장애인 대상 무용교육의 발전 방향을 위한 후속 연구를 제언하였다. This research aims to look into the lifeworld of dancers with intellectual disabilities and experience of dance activities of intellectually disabled members of a dance company. The participants are 5 dance members, one leader, and two special education teachers. The research method follows a way of the research process - lived time, lived space, lived body, and lived relationship - as insisted by van Manen. The main methods for collecting data are interview and participant observation and the period of collection is four months, from September to December 2021. Based on the collected qualitative data, 10 themes are found after analyzing and reconstructing participants’ experiences into a meaningful anecdote by applying the four existentials by van Manen. The results, through this study, the members' lives as members and performers are the only connection with society and the continuity in course to be professional dancers. They want to express their performance to the overseas stages from domestic ones and expect to be an instructor to guide the next generation. To sum up, to members of a dance company, dance plays a role as a navigator to set their life direction. Moreover, they try to spread their sense of challenge and possibility with the spirit of MeongSeoIMu(鳴世以舞, ring the world with dance). According to the results, this study suggests the next research for the developmental direction of dance education in special education.
