국문 초록

이 글에서 나는 공교육의 변화를 추구하는 학부모들의 의식적인 노력과 실천을 ‘학부모운동’으로 보고 그 변천이 교육과 문화의 관점에서 볼 때 어떤 의미가 있는지를 이해 하고자 하였다. 문헌연구를 통해 한국에서 ‘학부모’가 어떻게 호명되면서 주체로 세워졌으며 어떤 역사적 맥락 속에서 그러한 길들임에 저항하며 스스로의 주체됨을 찾아나가려고 했는지를 페쇠의 동일시(identification)-반동일시(counter-identification)-탈동일시(dis-identification)이론으로 해석하였다. 이 과정은 역사적으로는 학부모가 국가와 시장, 교사 등과의 관계 속에서 자신의 주체성을 확립해 나가는 과정이었으며, 실존적으로는 ‘학부모-되기’의 과정이라고 할 수 있다. 위와 같은 학부모운동의 변천은 학부모들을 둘러싼 문화적 혹은 길들임의 주체로서의 국가와 시장, 즉 ‘체계(system)’와 그러한 체제의 길들임에 대하여 저항하며 오랫동안 체제에 의하여 ‘식민화’되었던 ‘생활세계(lebenswelt)’에서의 교육의 자율적 영역과 가치를 재구성하기 위한 노력의 과정이라고 할 수 있다. 이는 교육학의 관점에서 보면, 오랜 ‘국가주의’, ‘학교주의’, 그리고 ‘시장주의’ 담론으로부터 교육을 떼어내 부모 그리고 학부모를 교육의 주체로 세우는 과정이며, 개인적으로는 나의 학부모로서의 ‘현재’ 체험을 연구자로서의 내가 ‘역사적으로’ 맥락화하고 ‘미래’ 학부모로서의 내 삶을 결단하는 일에 다름 아니다. From the perspective of education and culture, this paper aims to understand the meaning of the historical transformation of parents’ movements in the school system, which includes the efforts and practices of parents to pursue change in the school system. The researcher reviewed the literature concerned with parents’ movements and described the process of how parents had been ‘interpellated’ by the state and the market in a particular juncture and how they had resisted the cultivating power of the system (the state and the market) in terms of Pecheux’s theory of identification, counter-identification, and dis-identification. Such process of transformation of parents’ movements in the school system could be understood as that of efforts to reconstruct the autonomous area of education in ‘the Lebenswelt’ and its intrinsic value against the domesticating and colonizing power of ‘the system’. From the perspective of educational research, this is no other than the process of detaching the concept of ‘education’ from the discourse of ‘statism’ and ‘schoolism’. Also, it is the very process of contextualizing the researcher's lived experience of parents in the school system and projecting their life as a parent in the future.
