병원학교 파견 특수교사의 병원학교 운영 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 병원학교에 파견된 특수교사들이 병원학교의 운영에 대해 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 살펴보기 위해, 병원학교 파견 특수교사 4명과 면담을 실시하였다. 본연구는 “병원학교를 운영하는 파견 특수교사의 경험은 무엇인가?”를 연구질문으로 구성하였으며, 본 연구에 참여한 병원학교 특수교사들은 모두 중부지역에 위치한 대형병원에서 건강장애학생의 교육을 위해 파견된 특수교사들이었다. 연구 결과, 병원학교 특수교사들은 자신들이 병원학교라는 외로운 섬에 홀로 던져진 것이라 생각하고 있었으며, 병원학교 특수교사로 역할하기 위해 만능 해결사가 되어야 했고, 치료로 힘들어하는 아이들의 표정도 항상 살펴야 했다. 또한 이들은 업무를 수행하면서 병원과 학교의 눈치를 함께 보아야 하는 상황에 종종 처하기도 하였다. 병원학교 특수교사는 병원학교 학생 수 감소에 대해 교사 스스로 부담을 느끼고 있었으며, 일반학교 담임교사와의 소통의 중요성과 학생들의 학교 복귀의 문제를 중요하게 고려하고 있었다. 병원학교 특수교사들은 병원학교에 파견된 특수교사를 위한 지원과 병원학교 운영을 위한 지침이 마련될 필요가 있다고 하였다. This study investigated perceptions on hospital schools through interviews with four hospital school teachers. Research questions in the study included the following: “What were the experiences of the hospital school teachers who were managing the hospital schools?” and “Based on their experiences as teachers, what did they think of the management of the hospital school?” The study included the hospital school teachers whose hospital schools were located in central Korea. Results of the study indicated that the teachers felt neglected and forced to become an all-purpose fixers. The hospital school teachers had to show concern to the children’s physical conditions, and they had to maintain the relationships with medical doctors and hospital staffs. They also felt the burden of following the directions from the school and the hospital. They worried about the decrease in number of students at the hospital and placed importance on communication with general school teachers and the children’s return to their schools. The hospital school teachers thought that it was important to communicate with other hospital school teachers, needing their support and support for the operation guidelines.
